Lose future draft picks? That's a lousy penalty for what the reward for winning by cheating - if true was. NFL should investigate this and wrp it up this week. If the Pats are found to of done it they should have to forfeit to the Colts.

Why'd New England think they had to cheat to win? Was it probably the difference no, but at some point in the future could that be the difference in a game? Absolutely. Also, there's the repeat offender element of things for New England. They've been caught cheating before. They had draft picks taken away as punishment. Clearly that punishment didn't stop them from cheating in the present. I'd also wonder how many times they've gotten away with some element of cheating between Spygate to now as well? It's a dirty move and the game deserves far more integrity than the Patriots seem to give it.

Depending on what draft picks they lose, I am OK with the punishment. Take a way this years 2nd and 3rd rounder and I am fine. What if this is why the Patriots always trade back? They back load on draft picks so they can cheat in the future. :D

The referee has to check the ball before it reaches the field. There is nothing to this. Even if the balls were deflated, it is on the referees, not the Patriots.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... stigation/

Several years ago, in an effort to prevent any doctoring of balls used in the kicking game, the NFL adopted a rule that six new, specially-marked kicking balls would be used for each game, with the boxes opened by the officials two hours and 15 minutes before kickoff.

All balls remain under the supervision of the referee until they are delivered to the ball attendant shortly before kickoiff.

The existence of the investigation, as initially reported by Bob Kravitz of WTHR-TV in Indianapolis, suggests that the referee failed to properly check the specifications of the balls, the referee didn’t properly secure the balls before they were given to the ball attendant, or something happened to the balls after they were given to the ball attendant.

I don't know when they would have ever been in a position to deflate the balls. If the balls were deflated, it could have very well been because of the weather.

This is pretty dumb, deflated or not, it wasn't going to make a difference or change the game at all.

They didn't even do it. Everything the mainstream media says must hold some weight though, huh?

Yeah right.

That's very naieve of you. Where there's smoke there's fire. The media isn't on some witch hunt pulling stories out of thin air like every person trying to get away with something would love for you to believe. You gotta get over it. People do bad things, the media shines a light on those bad things. It's not the media's fault it's the people doing the bad things fault.

Id say what youre doing is being supportive of frivolous conspiracy.

Following the media, far more naieve. What exactly did they shine light on? There's nothing supporting this whack statement.

All the other shit you said is irrelevant jibber jabber. This isnt the life teachings forum.

Even though I don't see this as a big deal. To call it a media creation is just false. This wasn't even in anyone's mind before the NFL stated they were investigating it. So unless the NFL is starting this "conspiracy" its something they thought was worth looking into. Its probably nothing substantial, but the NFL still thought enough of it to check.

Simple enough, let them take to the field this weekend and have a rematch. I'm sure it would be at least a 3 TD win by New England.
