I understand the league's landscape has changed drastically in terms of the style of game play, it's hard to have respect for these running backs now and days though, they're shrouded with the accusations of PEDs far too often, compared to a lot of older backs from even, 5-10 years ago. (Players/athletes in general.)

Does anyone else think these occurrences would happen far less if there was more guarantees in contracts? I think there are a lot of professional athletes trying to get the upper-hand whenever it comes to trying to gain an edge, I wouldn't be surprised if there were a lot of guys that have never been caught....that being said, I also do believe if the contracts in the league were constructed a little bit better, in terms of injuries and guaranteed money, it'd happen far less, potentially...but you never know with these generations, all this hands on medication and technology.

^^^ This has nothing to do with PED's. Bell failed the NFL substance abuse policy, not their PED policy. He skipped a test and on the same day tweeted something to the effect of:

"Of course I get drawn for a random test on 4/20, good luck with that one."

Bell has smoked pot over and over since entering the league and that's exactly what happened here.

Was touching on a more general issue but in itself, I feel that there's still a respect factor for me in terms of how often this happens, that these athletes are willing to jeopardize themselves, their platform and their careers. I'd think they'd understand the times we live in.
