From reddit:

"Bryan vacated the belt on June 9, 2014 and since then the faces have been Cena and Reigns- both of whom never got unanimously cheered. No wonder this feels so fresh. Good job WWE."

Good. This is how it should be. Even if you don't like Ambrose, you still have to admit it looks better on TV to have a face that people actually cheer for. I actually enjoyed Raw last night. It was nice to have a rooting interest in the main event again. I don't even hate Reigns, but I just don't enjoy the Cena/Reigns Future of the Company booking. I like seeing multiple faces and heels at the top. It makes their rivalries fresh and even gives some good fire to any future non-title feuds they may have.

Yeah I wasn't sold on the idea of Ambrose as champ until Raw. It was so refreshing to see.

I'm not a big fan of Ambrose, and don't think he's top guy material. But it's so much better to have a face champion that people actually like. I don't think he can ever rise to the spot that Reigns was supposed to have, but he can certainly be in the mix for years to come, particularly if he keeps the fans on side.

The show would be so much better if WWE were willing to let the fans decide (to a certain extent) who is face and who is heel. That's how the business always worked up until about 10 years ago. Some of the best face and heel runs in history came when the crowd organically changed their opinion on a wrestler and the promoters went with it.
