New Documentary links Peyton Manning to doping ring, HGH

This could be potentially huge news, depending on what's in the report (it's coming out within the next few days). Basically it links Peyton Manning and several other prominent NFL players, including James Harrison and Julius Peppers, to HGH use. For Peyton, it specifically talks about him using it to recover from his neck injury when he was out of football.

There are going to be a lot of people debating about whether this is OK or not given that he was out of football at the time and specifically using it for recovery purposes, but given he was still under NFL contract at the time one would have to think it would still be a big rules violation.

Really interested to see how this shakes out.

I don't see what the big deal is, at least in regards to Peyton Manning. If anything, I would be shocked if he didn't use something to help recover.

Although I guarantee the reaction to this would be far more negative if it was Brady, even though the idea of HGH making someone a better quarterback is foolish to begin with.

I have never been one to care about HGH use for any athlete, so Manning using it to recover seems fine. It is however against the rules in the NFL, so he would get some punishment if the report proves true.

I love reading everyone's positive reactions. If Tom Brady was discovered to have used PEDs for the exact same reason, sports media would crucify him and 80% of people would call for his head.

I know right? Tom has such a hard life and really deserves a good day once in a while. *Obvious Sarcasm*

Definitely more evidence now behind this story.

The Tom Brady point is interesting. ESPN gave Peyton a platform to tell his side of the story. It has analysts and experts defending him. But if the roles were reversed, Brady would be getting eviscerated.

COnsider how the media treated the deflated ball scandal, in which Brady might have known about balls being extremely slighly deflated in one half of a football game, versus there so far being more evidence that Peyton did indeed illegally use HGH. Say what you want about whether HGH should or shouldn't be illegal, it iS.

This is going to blow up.
