You deliberately took a dig at me and the other British members because you have the WWE Network and we don't. You knew what you were doing, don't feign innocence now that you got called out on it.

It's cool though, whatever.

I didn't do that until as I said, I'd been called illogical multiple times and you yourself had totally dismissed me as having a completely irrelevant opinion.

I thought the little dig about watching Summerslam on the Network was pretty funny, and that's coming from someone who can't get the Network. :P

Calm down people, getting into a big argument about exclusivity deals and television providers is almost as dumb as the whole "scallops and scollops" debacle.

WWE have always been quick to adopt a "the buck stops there" policy. Lets not encourage that behaviour.

Sky were probably involved in getting WWE to postpone the release of the Network, based on either a contract they have in place with the company, or possibly due to some negotiations involving the airing of Raw & Smackdown in the UK, which is still valuable to WWE. However, I don't buy into the idea that they deliberately only came to WWE with these issues at the last minute so fans would get mad at WWE. Sky don't exactly come out of that scenario looking good either. I don't see their incentive to do that. If anything, they'd be proceeding with these talks in earnest to try and secure the best deal.

This is WWE's fault. To what extent it's their fault is up for debate, but they're after fucking with their UK fans and they should really take some responsibility for that. There is no way that they could have been forced into backing out of such a major business deal 30 minutes in advance without being extremely negligent, if nothing more than that. They may not be moustache-twirling villains, but they have shown incompetence and a lack of respect for their UK audience and they should be held accountable for that. So far they haven't issued an apology, and I really hope they do so. They should make some demonstration that it's their fault that people are pissed off.

I agree Hanley, the least they could do is apologise for the whole debacle, it's what any good company would do even if it isn't entirely their fault. Even a bog standard "we're sorry for any inconvenience caused" would be acceptable. I'll be waiting to see if that happens.

John, why even argue the point here? People are annoyed because they've been screwed out of something. Let them vent for at least 24 hours before rushing to WWE's defense. They deserve to vent this time.

The UK folk are legitimately angry about this, and they have a right to be. So understandably, they're going to get pretty animated about this. Particularly now while the wound is still so raw. Try not to take it personally. People aren't angry at you, they're pissed off that the company has mistreated them again.

And as I said earlier, there may have been decent reasons for WWE cancelling the agreement at the last minute, but they have fucked with a lot of their customers and do need to take some responsibility here. No matter what happened, they're the ones that owe their customers a service and they're the ones who failed to deliver it. And there are no circumstances possible here where the WWE could be 100% blameless.

Fine you are right, when I see absurd allegations and bashing of something without any understanding of how the situation really works I should just sit by because emotions are raw. How dare I try to offer some level-headed perspective and realize what the scenario probably is. I should just let the insane mob mentality run wild and keep my opinions to myself. How dare I discuss my opinion on a *gasp* Discussion Forum!

Seriously Hanley, speaking up for censorship? I mean I can't help it in this case that I don't agree with the mob and won't just blindly go along with something I don't agree with, and to have people dismiss or try to tell me to just remain silent on the issue here isn't the type of environment I've grown accustomed to here. If that's what it's going to become then fine. I'll probably be around a lot less.

Is it really an absurd allegation to expect a global company to know the terms of the contractions they themselves negotiated less than a year ago, before setting the release of a much anticipated product that would potentially breach said contract?

Don't go throwing your toys out of the pram, making this a bigger deal than it is.

Ha, what? Not even apologised. Damn.

So I assume they just sent a tweet out saying no WWE Network and then probably tweeted a plug to a new John Cena t-shirt? Either they are preparing a detailed response for the benefit of their shareholders and they continue to show lack of sincerity on this. This apology, if it comes, better be damn good for the debate its caused here!

Haha nope, they released a statement on their website which literally just reads something like:
"the launch of the wwe network in the uk has been delayed until further notice.

We'd like to thank our fans in the uk for bearing with us"

Although I'm sure they added that last bit on recently as I don't remember reading it last night in my rage ;)

I think everyone's entitled to their opinion, and you are too. And absolutely go ahead speaking it, and we'll go ahead arguing it. That's always been my opinion on these arguments on the forum and it still is. But you seem to be getting more worked up than everyone else and I can't for the life of me figure out why. Is it because nobody's on your side? Maybe that's because the other side has a pretty damn good point.

You've not lost anything here. A bunch of other people have. I know they're pissed off. Why are you so pissed off? Why are you the first to say "whatever I'm done with this argument" and throw a sulk, make an inflammatory comment and then act offended when people call you out on a comment specifically intended to annoy people?

If you're not looking for a fight here, you're doing a good impression of someone who is.

I was the first to do that huh? Interesting. Cause I swear I read two people calling me illogical, crazy and talking to me like I was stupid before I said anything even slightly inflammatory.
