It's interesting actually, while people say that this is their fourth world championship trophy, in a way it's their first. Their other three wins were all as West Germany - not as a unified country. It's nice that they've managed to grab one as simply Germany after all these years.

The best TEAM. Weren't outstanding throughout the tournament but got stronger and compact as it went on.

Schweinsteiger was immense tonight I felt. Took a battering at times but really was the glue in the middle of the park to hold it together.

An enjoyable tournament.
