Aguero is out of the Villa/Man City clash.

Also Larry Ellison, the 4th richest man in the world, is *apparently* interested in Villa and has *apparently* been seen at Villa Park today.

The result and performance slightly irrelevent although positives of Januzaj, Wilson and Lawrence. But the ending to Vidic at OT, fitting! Fully deserved and the brick machine he is, he didn't cry!

Giggs' speech was polished and little part thought he might announce his retirement but tbh, I don't think he's decided yet. He might wait for LVG to decide if A) he wants to keep him B) if he does want him to stay, in what role as a coach/player but I still think he could offer a squad role for another year at least.

Alan Shearer: "Man City did not panic whatsoever"

Dunno what game he was watching. City started getting nervous about 20 minutes in when they realised it wasn't the walk in the park they expected. They were frantic, their passing was poor and Villa hit them on the counter a few times. Once City scored you could see the relief on the whole teams' faces.

Then Villa just folded after conceding, as per usual.

La Liga is shaping up nicely, all Barca have to do if beat Madrid on the final day of the season to win because of the head to head ruling as the reverse fixture finished 0-0.... it should be a phenomenal next few weeks!

So, the FA announce their proposals to improve the number of players available to play for England.

One of them is to create a league in between League 1 and the Conference but no further than the former.

Isn't Dario Gradi on this panel? If so, amazed he decided to put this plan through.

I don't see what this B league will do other than stifle the development of players. Playing at a level where I don't think they will really learn anything. As suggested, they are better off playing abroad at a younger age, learning new technical skills and playing under better coaches. TBF, you can tell this is an idea from Danny Mills.

SkySports reporting that Liverpool are looking to wrap up the signing of Adam Lallana before the World Cup starts. Be a good addition to the squad that, I'd be very happy if they did the majority of their business early. I'm not happy with the amount of money being quoted (25 million) but in saying the way the game is today every decent player will be going for extortionate amounts, the game in general is just more expensive.

I see transfers being value +10 mill. Lallana's value is about 15 mill therefore the logical price to expect is about 25, sadly.

Always happens with English players. If Lallana had the same ability but was Bosnian, the price would be half what is being quoted.

Not wrong. I love that Liverpool have an abundance of British players but it always annoys me to see us paying 25 million on a player then watching another quality foreign player move clubs at half the price we've paid.

Villa were like that under O'Neill - had the most English players out of any club in the league, but a downside was that we were paying things like 9 million for Curtis Davies, 8 million for Nigel Reo-Coker...

It's just the way the game is nowadays though isn't it? It's just a ludicrously more expensive business.

Spot on. Greg Dyke is so out of touch with the public it's untrue. Does anyone in the football governing body actually care? It'd ridiculous. It'd be grand if you could all sign this petition please, to stop fucktards in suits destroying the beautiful game.
