It's his father and Giggs stayed with his Mum after they split and took his mother's name so he's hardly going to be singing his praises and also he's probably upset Giggsy hasn't doled out money to him. Sour grapes but yeah, whatever.

Or it could be the fact the Giggs had been shagging his own brother's wife for 8 straight years but yeah, whatever.

No, more like his father's upset his son didn't want to stay with him so feels it more necessary to join in the fun on booting down Giggs.

AkydefGoldberg wrote:Makes no difference to me in judging Giggs' ability in a footballing sense.

I've never once called into question Giggs is footballing ability, nor has anyone for that matter, so I'm not quite sure why you've brought that up? We're merely pointing out that it's a joke Giggs isn't thrown into the same category of 'cunts' such as Suarez and Terry when his indiscretions are quite the bit worse than the others. Again, not that it's a competition.

Yeah, but I guess that's down to the fact that Giggs, besides his off-the-field embarrassment has had a squeaky clean career besides that.

It's not a competition but Suarez: Evra incident, biting Ivanovic, his on-field theatrics (which even United players have been guilty of at times). Terry: shagging Bridge's ex-partner who was his ex-Chelsea team mate; Anton racism furore; incidents involving his Mum and Dad (latter I believe is in a court case relating to a racially aggravated assault). Giggs: shagged his brother's wife for eight years and slept with a Big Brother celebrity wanabe.

Giggs has hardly been affiliated with a litany of off the field incidents (or on the pitch for that matter) to be in that 'cunt' category as prominently as those two above. Anything that Suarez/Terry do negatively only re-inforces and reminds people of their past transgressions. Giggs does something wrong, the thought of him shagging his brother's wife is a secondary thought because probably down to him using the super-injunction so the press got quietened down at the height of it.

I'm not actually sure why you're using the examples of Suarez and Terry to further your cause when I'm not arguing with you about them. Suarez and Terry both have horrible reputations and are firmly cemented in the cunt category and deserve to be, I've never once said otherwise.

The fact you can't admit Giggs deserves to be in that group too astounds me. At the risk of repeating myself further - this is a man who had an affair...with his own brother's wife for 8 fucking years then had another affair with a reality star and tried to cover it up with a super-injunction so nobody would find out. That is among the down-right seediest, scummiest things I can recall a sportsman doing.

He's a legend of the game and one of the best players to ever lace up a pair of boots, I've never doubted that. He's earned his legacy and status among the elite of the Premier League, that's an absolute fact. Another absolute fact is he's a vile human being for the sins he's committed and has earned his place on the all time cunt list right next to Luis Suarez and John Terry. The fact the media (and most of the world to be honest) is overlooking this fact because he's a 'legend' is ludicrous.

I think partly why he used the super-injunction is a default mode which he's been used to at OT. SAF was a master in suppressing information; not a coincidence that information gets leaked easily at the club now that he's gone but I definitely feel that's why Giggs did the super-injunction. He knew it'd be an embarrassment to the club in a season where they were coasting to the league title and in the CL final. If he hadn't, the story would have blown up and could have caused an unnecessary attention in a pivotal moment of the season. I'm not denying from an ethical pov that what he did was WRONG, it was. But I'm hesitant to jump him into that cunt category firstly because I'm biased :P and secondly because unlike others (not digging at you here) players' personal lives aren't in my thoughts and considerations. Alot of football journalists are inclined that way either but the showbiz ones would say a different matter. But I just hard to fathom to put him in that category, again my bias but having an affair is such a dick move regardless of who it is with and for how long and I can see your point of view from a laddish ("you don't fuck with another guy's gal, period) perspective and how it's being seen from your angle.

Bottom line is that no-one is rabbiting on about Giggs' affair because it's old news and news which was suppressed (some might say, dickishly) to keep its impact down and tbh, that's done the job because no-one really talks about it besides the odd chants here and there.

The last time Liverpool won the title, John Flanagan's parents were still just brother and sister.

Man United were clever about bringing Giggs in for the first time against Norwich; The fans couldn't abuse him for sleeping with a family member.

I think he'd have got abuse regardless. Norwich's fans were more keen to chant "Liverpool" lol.

Big semi final tonight - think Madrid will get through..Hope they win the CL, Ancelotti decides he's given Le Decima and replaces Moyes!

From the Birmingham Mail: The scenarios which would have to take place in order for Villa to go down:

Villa have 35 points, with a -17 goal difference, the best in the bottom five.

Three points or more

Villa would mathematically guarantee safety with three points or more in the final three matches, taking their tally to 38 or higher. Doing so with a home win against Hull this weekend would be best. But, failing that, a win at Manchester City or Tottenham would keep them up, as would three draws.

Two points

If they get two draws and two points, taking their tally to 37, they are 99.9 per cent safe, barring a dramatic results/goal difference swing against them.

One point

If Villa get one draw and one point, taking their tally to 36, then two of the following scenarios must happen for Villa to be relegated.

1 Cardiff beat Newcastle (a) and Chelsea (h), with a 21-goal swing.

2 Fulham beat Stoke (a) and Crystal Palace (h).

3 Norwich beat Chelsea (a) and Arsenal (h) or get four points from a win and a draw, with a 15-goal swing.

4 Sunderland take four or more points from Manchester United (a), West Brom (h) and Swansea (h).

Even if two of those were to occur, Villa could still stay up if West Brom fail to take a point from Arsenal (a), Sunderland (a) and Stoke (h) and there is a five-goal swing in Villa’s favour.

No points

If Villa get no points, leaving their tally at 35, then two of the following scenarios must happen for them to be relegated.

1 Cardiff beat Newcastle (a) and Chelsea (h).

2 Fulham beat Stoke (a) and Crystal Palace (h) or get four points with a win and a draw, with a 25-goal swing.

3 Norwich beat Chelsea (a) or Arsenal (h) with a 15-goal swing, or win both, or win one and draw one.

4 Sunderland win one game with a three-goal swing, or win one and get a least a draw in the other two games.

I don't even consider Villa as part of the relegation battle tbh, never have. Even if they lost all their remaining games I still couldn't see them going down.

I only hope for Porky's sanity that Villa survive. Otherwise, we might aswell say farewell to the guy.

Real owned Bayern in the semi-final. When you've got pace to burn on the counter, it can kill the opposition big-time. Pep's under pressure but think the signing of Lewandowski will help to add that cutting edge in the final third.

Ancelotti to replace Moyes could only happen is if he wins the CL - which I hope he does that because I like him and also for CR7 - that he feels the job is done, win the 10th one. Maybe he'll think job done and leave but doubt it.

Real vs. Atletico final. Chelsea waned after the equaliser and Madrid fully deserved to go through.

I'm hoping and backing Real to win la Decima plus Ancelotti's a cool dude and Ronaldo, well, just a well oiled machine and he really needs to win this CL to solidify himself in Madrid history even though fans universally love him at Madrid but just to be part of the team to win the 10th European Cup.

Javier Hernandez is a shock transfer target for Aston Villa, who are set to raise their recruitment ambitions this summer in a bid to avoid another season of struggle.

The Manchester United striker, 25, is among players Villa manager Paul Lambert has identified as being attainable should the side stay up. Lewis Holtby is also a target.

I didn't even know this until today but after Ipswich drew 1-1 with Leeds earlier in the season this quote occurred after the game.

"Some people might be frustrated with that result. Some people can fuck off." - Mick 'GOAT' McCarthy

^LOL. I can't see stingy Lerner forking out the money for Lescott, never mind Hernandez. Unless the rumoured takeover happens but can see Hernandez potentially going to Atletico Madrid if Costa moves to Chelsea. He'd be suited to a more continental style of play.

Tim Sherwood, speaking on who will eventually replaces him as Spurs manager: "Whoever it is, has a hard act to follow." :facepalm

Yes, you're right. Because you're the only muppet who has a strop on the side-line and publically bashes in his players.

More I hear from him, more I think he's Harry Redknapp's secret son. All he is missing is "'t'riffic" from his vocab and interviews in his car.
