Re: PCW Onslaught Episode 6 RESULTS!

Well, here's my part.

Magnum Phillips and The Master vs. Orion Bishop and Hiroshi Sato

"The Struggle Within" plays over the soundsystem, and The Master emerges from the back.

Announcer: The following tag team match is scheduled for one fall! Making his way to the ring, hailing from Birmingham, England and weighing in at 215 pounds... He is Jack Masterson, THE MASTER!

Alex: As you saw during that previous segment, we've got a strange tag team match coming up... The Master teaming up with Magnum Phillips to take on the team of Orion Bishop and Hiroshi Sato.

Cage: This is a chance for a guy like The Master to make an impact, Alex... if Magnum lets him, that is.

The Master slides into the ring and closes his eyes, holding his palms out in a "look at me" motion, which the fans mildly boo. But the boos become much louder when "Silvergun Superman" hits, and Magnum Phillips appears from behind the curtain, chewing his tobacco and draped in his Texas flag.

Announcer: And his partner, hailing from San Antonio, Texas and weighing in at 287 pounds... Magnum Phillips!

Phillips ambles down the ramp and steps into the ring haughtily. He removes the Texas flag from his shoulders and waves it to the audience, which boos loudly.

Alex: Last week, Magnum Phillips disemboweled Hiroshi Sato and then knocked the stuffing out of The Buck. Tonight he's got his eyes set on Orion Bishop after the fellow rookie laid down a challenge for Oblivion.

Cage: He's going to need to watch himself though, because the last thing he wants to do is give Bishop some more fuel before the pay per view. Magnum may be one tough son of a gun, but Bishop isn't exactly someone you want to mess with. These are two bulls.

[SATO/BISHOP ENTRANCE]

*DING DING DING*

The Master seems to want to start things off for his team, but Magnum Phillips quickly pushes him aside and steps into the ring. Hiroshi Sato had already stepped into the ring for his team, but appears to have second thoughts now that he sees Magnum staring at him maliciously.

Alex: Who can blame Sato for being a bit nervous here? The man's still got some visible bruises from the glorified beatdown he received from the big Texan last week, which ended in a referee's decision.

Sato looks back to try to tag Bishop in right away, but Magnum is there before he can even take a step. Phillips grabs the cruiserweight by his trunks and tosses him to the other side of the ring roughly, then gives a sidelong glance at Bishop, which just increases Bishop's urge to get in the match.

Cage: When both these two get into the ring at the same time, we're going to see an explosion!

Phillips steps over toward Sato, who has already gotten back to his feet. The high flyer takes a running start toward Magnum and attempts to leap into a hurricanrana, but Phillips is able to brush him off. Sato lands on his feet, however, and delivers a dropkick to the back of Magnum, sending him bouncing chest-first off the ropes, much to the delight of the audience!

Alex: Quick bit of offense there by Sato! And he has to know this week that he's going to need to use his speed to avoid another beating like he received a week ago.

Phillips bounces back toward Sato, who quickly attempts to roll Phillips up for a pinfall! The referee dives into the picture to make the count...

ONE!

Kickout! Phillips instantly jolts out of the pinfall and hops back to his feet, and the audience groans disappointedly. Sato gets back to his feet as well, but he's quickly met with a crushing clothesline near Phillips's corner!

OOOOOOOOH!

Sato's back bounces off the mat, and Magnum takes a moment to wipe some sweat off his hands onto his dark jeans. He stares out at the audience, and then points menacingly down at Sato, drawing a chorus of boos.

Cage: Uh oh... Sato could be in trouble already!

Alex: He was too slow in getting up after that pinfall attempt, and it cost him. Now the high flyer is grounded, and Magnum Phillips is about to have his way with him!

Phillips grins widely and leans over to pull Sato up and deal some more damage... but suddenly there's a *SLAP* noise, as The Master tags himself in by slapping Phillips on the back! The audience cheers at the thought that Magnum will have to leave the match, but the big Texan himself suddenly becomes irate.

Cage: What the hell is The Master doing here? His partner was about to continue last week's beatdown, and he just decided to tag in?!

Alex: The Master has been desperate to make an impact here in recent weeks, and it looks like his overexuberance kicked in right there. I don't think Magnum Phillips appreciates it, that's for sure!

He spins around and sees The Master entering the ring and barks some words of rage at him, but the referee comes over and tells Magnum that he has to leave the ring. For now, Magnum obliges, and stares daggers at The Master, who now has taken over for Magnum in holding up Sato. But Sato has had a chance to recover thanks to the interruption, and pushes himself away from The Master's hold! The audience cheers as The Master comically tries to grab Sato but comes up with a handful of air. Sato, meanwhile, spins around the back of the British enigma and delivers a couple forearm clubs to the upper back! The Master stumbles forward from the blow, and Sato steps backwards, propels himself off the ropes, runs forward and delivers a big running headscissors to his opponent!

Alex: And down goes The Master! An impressive headscissors takedown there by Sato, one of the more accomplished cruiserweights running the indy circuits in recent years. And Magnum Phillips is fuming!

Cage: I think "fuming" is an understatement, Alex... the man looks downright murderous!

Phillips appears ready to burst in and toss The Master back out of the ring, but he grits his teeth and restrains himself. Meanwhile, on the other side, Orion Bishop seems to be having a ball.

Alex: And look at Orion Bishop, you can tell that he's loving how easily Phillips is getting agitated here. And that could be Magnum's fatal flaw in this industry... his temper could be a major roadblock to success.

Craig: And you have to believe that Orion's going to be ready to take advantage of that at Oblivion!

Sato waves The Master back to his feet, and the British wrestler obliges. He gets up and wildly swings a punch at Sato, but the cruiserweight rolls underneath it, then hops back up on the other side of his opponent. When The Master spins around to face Sato, the Asian star leaps into the air and delivers a crushing Enziguri right to The Master's cheek! The British grappler collapses to the mat and the audience cheers as Sato attempts his second pinfall of the match!

ONE!

TWO!

TH-Kickout!

Alex: OOOH! The Master just manages to get his shoulder up after a devastating enziguri.

The audience calms itself back down after the near fall. Sato appears to be thoroughly enjoying himself after the beating he suffered last week, and lets loose some of his exuberance with a yell out to the crowd.

Cage: The kid's having fun in there, Alex, gotta give that to him. Of course, it's only a matter of time before Phillips is back in the match...

The Master crawls over to his corner and begins pulling himself up in the turnbuckle. Once he's finally back to his feet, he steadies himself and stares across the ring at Sato, who looks ready to launch another assault. But suddenly, The Master crumples to the mat... he receives a vicious blow to the skull from Magnum Phillips!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Alex: WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!

Cage: I think that was Magnum tagging in, Alex!

Sure enough, the referee comes over to discipline Phillips, but the big Texan simply yells out "THAT WAS A TAG!" Sato prepares himself across the ring and glances back at Bishop, as though ready to make a tag, but suddenly, Phillips shifts his gaze from Sato down to The Master...

Cage: I've got a bad feeling about this, Alex!

Bishop plucks The Master up off the turf with ease, and holds him high in the air with two hands. The camera picks up his voice:

Magnum: I TOLD YOU TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY! YOU BROUGHT THIS ON YOURSELF, KID!

Phillips finally sets The Master back down on the ground, but not for long... he grabs his partner by his trunks and throws him head-first out of the ring between the ropes, where he crashes down on the floor with a sickening THUD!

Alex: This is absolutely ridiculous! Someone put a stop to this!

Sato and Bishop share an incredulous glance, and seem unsure about what to do now that Phillips has begun an assault on his own partner. Meanwhile, Phillips steps out of the ring and down on to the floor below and begins stomping away at The Master's back. The audience grows increasingly restless...

Cage: The Master didn't heed Magnum Phillips's warnings, and now he's suffering the consequences!

Magnum suddenly hoists The Master high into the air... and drops him directly on to the ring barrier! The crowd boos loudly as Magnum continues his assault, delivering stomp after stomp to the body of the British wrestler. The referee has now begun his count, but Phillips doesn't seem to care.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Meanwhile, in the ring, Sato stands all alone, watching the events down below. He suddenly looks back toward Bishop, and gestures toward Magnum's rival. The audience cheers their approval, yearning for Orion to get into the match. Sato heads over to his corner and makes the tag, prompting a big set of cheers from the audience.

Alex: Oh boy... Magnum better get his attentions fixed back on the ring, because this match is about to get hot!

Phillips seems to realize that something is up when the audience bursts into cheers. He spins back around and looks into the ring... but the first thing he sees is Hiroshi Sato flying through the air, delivering a springboard plancha off the top rope! The high-flying move catches Phillips completely by surprise, and the Texan falls to the floor!

Alex: OH MY GOD!

Cage: WHAT A MOVE BY SATO!

Sato hops back to his feet and lets another yell loose toward the audience, and the audience explodes in cheers right back at Sato, who seems to be reveling in his chance to get revenge from a week ago! Before Magnum can even realize what is happening, Sato is using all of his strength to shove him back into the ring! The disoriented Phillips finally gets to his feet... where he immediately stands face to face with Orion Bishop!

Re: PCW Onslaught Episode 6 RESULTS!

Postby The Legend » Feb 25, '14, 7:52 pm

Forced Hand – Good simple start to the show. I liked Alex and Cage’s back and forth to start and Hess’s straight-forward promo that followed.

Hess vs Omega – Really good match up, the two strong guys put on a physical show and I liked how Omega’s injury got worked over repeatedly. Also, a strong ending considering the PPV match it sets up.

Battle Lines are Drawn – Good promo to an extent, I thought Gryphon went to the easiest punchline when trying to egg Hess into the match, but a good energy in the promo that fed off the last segment nonetheless.

Ace is Coming – I’m slightly conflicted on this promo. First, clearly there’s significant writing ability. And Ace seems like he’ll have an intensity that’s interesting. I liked how he went about things in the second half of the promo talking about what he wants, but I’ll say that I think the tortured childhood thing in sim-fedding is really cliché and hopefully that gets underplayed once Ace actually debuts.

Don’t Screw it Up – I’m enjoying Magnum Phillips more every time I read something else from him. Good short promo from him here.

Growing Threat – Interesting angle. Not much to say about it because there’s too much mystery yet, but I’m liking the looks of this Spencer Miller angle. The note at the end was a nice touch.

Buck Stops Here – OK promo here, but doesn’t really move the story much. Because there isn’t much to talk about with the promo I’ll throw this in here, but Buck’s hardly the only violator of this, but to me I get using more language than you would be able to on TV and what not, but there’s still some words – fuck chief among them – that I find sorta jarring and takes away from a promo because saying it on TV would be so unrealistic.

Gate to Oblivion – I actually like how Zaid referenced my one issue with this promo. I think it’s better the farther apart WCSF and PCW are the better. I thought Foster referenced too many WCSF things, but it was still decent. I liked Zaid’s punchiness in trying to take on a veteran to make a statement.

Zaid vs Foster – Nice match, really good action that mixed the comings and goings of different moving parts. Can also appreciate Zaid getting the win and Foster having more reason to hate Spencer Miller afterwards.

Shadow of the Assassin – Really good promo. Loved every bit of it. This match is going to be one of my favorites at the PPV.

Interview – I never got to see much of Haynes because I hadn’t read the shows before he got injured, but this interview definitely has my interest peaked for when he comes back.
All’s Fair in Love and War – Good heat adding segment here. This is another undercard feud that’s going to make this PPV really strong.

Main Event – This match was everything I’d figure it would be and more. Great job with this one guys. Was obvious that NRO would win, but it sets up one hell of a battle for the tag titles at Oblivion.

Law and Disorder – Great final promo. I love this match for the title because Kaiser is just so easy to hate and is the perfect heel champion so full of ego and cockiness. Daz is the perfect foil as the epitome of a face character, but without being cliché or cheesy. That makes for a hell of a confrontation.

Re: PCW Onslaught Episode 6 RESULTS!

A Forced Hand/opening match - Glad to see Hess and Omega finally mixing it up in the ring. It feels like Sean Knight has basically disappeared. Is the writer for him still around, or are ShaneO and BSM handling him now? Pretty solid match, lots of chaos as one would expect given the tensions. Makes sense that there wouldn't be a true conclusion given we're a week away from their PPV clash. Wasn't expecting the match to be a handicap match, but I like it. Gets everybody involved. I'm not entirely sure who I expect to win this at this point, but I'm expecting that this will be the cap to this feud.

Ace - Welcome back to simming, Ace. It'll be hard to know what to think of the character until he actually debuts, but I think there's some promise there. I'd like to see something a little more to set him apart from other characters on the roster, but there's plenty of time for that.

Growing Threat - Man, Sato can't catch a break :lol Finally had a good showing in his match and then meets up with the assailant. I'm not so sure what I think about this storyline at this point. We went from teasing Miller working for someone to having someone work for Miller with very little explanation. There have been way more questions raised than answers. And what's the point of having him take out Sato in a segment that doesn't have anything to do with Foster? I dunno. I guess we'll see what happens at Oblivion but as of right now I'm ready for some 'splainin.

The Buck Stops Here - How many times have we used that title for a Buck segment I wonder? :P Good promo from Buck, but I've got a funny feeling he's not nearly as retired as he says he is, haha.

The Gate to Oblivion - Really good promo by Foster, although it's odd that there isn't even a mention of what happened with Sato. Foster's really taken to the face role well. The Last Man Standing announcement definitely took me by surprise, but it makes sense given the brutality of this feud. Definitely increased my anticipation levels for this match. Suddenly... ZAID?! :lol I feel like this would have been a moment where I'd have laughed out loud if it was actually televised. Zaid is hilarious. Loved that segment.

Zaid vs.Foster - Nice touch to have Miller come out for a closer look at things. Good solid action here. Zaid got in some nice offense, and picks up the win with the interference. Good way of putting Zaid over while keeping Foster strong for Oblivion. Good stuff.

Shadow of the Assassin - Really solid promo by Miller here. I wish this feud would have just stayed between him and Foster rather than involving an assailant, because there's been some really great mic work between both of these guys and I'm definitely stoked for the match. Miller did a nice job of getting over Foster's troubles in the ring since coming to PCW without totally burying the guy. A dastardly heel promo.

The Interview - So Haynes is out for a while? Probably not a bad idea. When he comes back, we can focus on building him up more as a character rather than simply as a foil to Cavanah.

All's Fair - Solid segment here. I've had a lot of fun reading this feud so far and am interested in seeing how it comes to a head at Oblivion. Valentino's a guy I'd be interested in working with at some point.

Tag match - Tag team action in the main event! That's how you know this isn't WWE :lol. This was an outstanding match. One might get overwhelmed with all the technical descriptions of moves that come with a Daz match, but the characterization of both of these teams is on point, as well as the relationship between the NRC members. The result of the match was obvious, but it was still cool to see the way it came together. Also, the "achievement unlocked" stuff is great :P Anyway, an excellent main event. I'm still 90% sure NRC wins the titles at Oblivion, but predictability isn't necessarily a bad thing if the result is good and the quality is high, which it has been so far.

Law and Disorder I'm kind of hoping we see less of Burke after Oblivion, just because it'd be cool to not have an overarching authority figure around at all times to run the show. I loved Kaiser dropping all these names and saying they didn't join because of him... great stuff :lol. Great stuff moving on as well, talking about Daz not knowing when to call it quits, a good theme to play off considering Daz's advancing years and mounting injuries. Outstanding face promo by Daz right in Kaiser's face. This was classic stuff, and really built this up as a dream match (which let's be honest, it is). I'm SO ready for this one. We've got a great card ahead of us for the PPV.

Re: PCW Onslaught Episode 6 RESULTS!

Postby prophet » Feb 27, '14, 1:36 pm

A Forced Hand/Omega vs Hess - Talk about a fast start to the show, wasn't expecting this match at all as I sort of figured beforehand that it might be a future PPV match so it was a nice surprise to see this happen right off the bat. Solid, aggressive opening match between the two big men that had some nice spots - weird to see Omega go to the top rope during the contest but it's things like this that keep things refreshing and that whole spot was good to read although I would say I thought it was a bit far-fetched to see Hess catch Omega whilst standing in the powerbomb position only for Omega to counter with a hurricanrana - that doesn't seem like the type of thing these two should be doing to each other haha. Nice opener and it sets up the handicap match nicely. The momentum rule would suggest Omega and Richard will get the win.

Ace is Coming - Writing the first promo to introduce a new character is one of the toughest things to do so I commend you on the effort shown. I agree that the 'tortured soul' type thing is a bit played but in all honesty is provides the character with another layer right off the bat, that backstory can be his bread and butter if needed. I'm really confused about the character to be honest - it might just be me but I think the character contradicted himself when he said that he wants his face on merchandise, it didn't really fit in with the start when the tone was a bit more serious. Like I say though, the first vignette isn't easy and I'm looking forward to seeing Ace debut for real.

Don't Screw It Up! - LMAO, tell me I'm not the only one who legit laughed out loud at The Master being thoroughly sucked into his reading of 'Pro Wrestling for Dummies'? Short and sweet, nice.

Phillips/Master vs Bishop/Sato - From what Tim posted I enjoyed the conflicting dynamics between Magnum and his partner. Shame this wasn't turned in - I know Brett has been struggling with his enthusiasm lately and it shows because it's really hard to get behind Orion right now. I've 100% been there mate and it's a tough thing to get back (bring back Evans?) - regardless I'm sure you'll both write a great match for the PPV.

Growing Threat - So Miller's associate doesn't seem to have an agenda. Spooky. Literally couldn't hazard a guess at who it could be.

The Buck Stops Here - Nice promo here, nothing much to comment on as of yet. I reckon we'll see more of Buck soon and I'll have more to discuss when that happens!

although it's odd that there isn't even a mention of what happened with Sato

Had no idea it happened mate, that's why I didn't reference it haha.

Shadow of the Assassin - Really enjoyed this and I think it's easily Miller's best mic-work in the PCW (aside from calling Foster a fucking cunt which I could've done without lmao). Really looking forward to writing our match at the PPV, we've talked in-depth about what we want to do and it's now up to us to pull it off.

The Interview - Haynes going off to complete his major in philosophy might be something to revisit when he returns, you should've had him doing Psychology! That could've been an excellent tool for the character when he does return. Looks like we have a future Kaiser Cavanah feud to look forward too in the future.

All's fair in love and war - Really enjoyed Zaid using his big win as a way of furthering his pursuit of Gia and then kissing her, lmao. Zaid's a character that provides much needed comic relief to the show and I'm happy he's around. Still think there's a lot of mileage in this feud and I'd be disappointed if it ended at the PPV. It'd be nice to see Valentino get to do something other than moan and have his head played with week in week out, hopefully that's gonna happen soon.

BC vs NRC - I was surprised to see this match on Onslaught being honest. Having it on the 'free show' on the week of the PPV doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I'll echo what's been say that I love reading the technical descriptions Daz writes, it's what makes his characters come across as real threats and here was no different. I'm almost certain Clash at Demonhead is a Scott Pilgrim reference and if I'm right you just know Ali wrote that haha. I've been looking forward to seeing Catwalk on the same page for some time now and it was great to finally see it happen, really enjoyed reading them pick up the win thanks to the Polaroid. Now I'm interested to see how the writers will keep things refreshing at the PPV.

Law and Disorder - I'm not really going to go into much detail here, badass from Kaiser, awesome stuff from Daz. Pretty much what you'd expect - really looking forward to this and it really is the biggest match the fed could have.

Roll on the PPV!

Glad to see that nobody seems to have a problem with us having only 2 shows between Escalation and Oblivion. Most of these feuds have been going on since the first episode, so we took Tim's comments on the last show into consideration, and figured that we'd rather have one eventful show than two mostly-filler ones.

I think everybody did a great job on this show in terms of giving your feuds one last hard sell before the PPV. Right off the bat the Omega/Hess match was good as I imagined it would have been. Great to see two Field Plows in there, haha. It think it's safe to say that's the most "over" finishing move in the fed. Looking forward to the 3 vs 2 handicap match at Oblivion. PremiumChaos is gone so it's actually going to be 3 people writing, so that should give all you guys the chance to get your stuff/input in.

Ace's promo was impressive. I'm always a fan of a newcomer running down the established talent on the show, as that immediately paints him as someone who's motivated to make a big impact and make a name for himself at the expense of those guys. Looking forward to reading more from Ace for sure. Bonus points for being the first guy to turn in your promo too!

In hindsight I probably should have put up Tim's part of the match, glad to see he did that anyway though. We didn't wait for Brett to finish his stuff because the show was already running late and we wanted to set an example. PCW's not gonna wait around for one guy who forgot about the show. We're planning to run on a tighter schedule after Oblivion; we'll see how that works out.

Not much to say about Buck's promo more than what's already been said. We're starting this one off on a slow burn, hopefully that all works out later on. I thought Foster cut the best promo of his PCW career so far. So did Miller. Really great job guys, and I'm looking forward to reading your match the most. Just a great job all around on your stuff this week. Zaid was excellent as always, and his segment with Johnny V played out exactly how I envisioned it. Zaid vs Johnny V is another match I'm really looking forward to reading.

Haynes was at his best this week as well. As everyone mentioned it's nice to see more of his personality here, because all he's been doing so far is fight Cavanah, haha. But yeah, really strong promo here and it sets things up very nicely for the future.

Terrific main event. I think the one negative to doing 2 shows instead of 3 before Oblivion is that this feud may have seemed a bit rushed. But don't worry, because we have plans to spice up the last match at Oblivion. As for the last segment, it was supposed to be as epic as possible and I feel like we did that. I really tried to bring my A game to this promo and in doing so, hoped to motivate Daz to do the same. He sure as fuck did, and delivered an outstanding promo here. Daz is the complete package of PCW. Hope this one final hard sell for Oblivion did its job.

Oblivion, here we come :tim

Yeah I think it would've been a mistake to drag it out much longer. A couple of these feuds just need a match now, especially Disciples vs. HFX. If we look at Escalation as more of an event than a Pay Per View, I think it just makes sense to go right into Oblivion from here. Gotta strike while the iron is hot :tim

Decent show once again, here's a couple of random thoughts...

Hess Vs Omega- I was beginning to think there was lots of interference in this match, maybe a little too much, but when the handicap match was announced it made sense really.

Ace is Coming- obviously this guy has a troubled past, I wonder if we will see more of this play out in storyline or if it will just be the reasoning behind his heel nature. I liked his rundown of the roster, shows not only has a bit of research been done, but that the roster is quite varied in characters!

Shadow of an Assassin- decent promotion for the match at Oblivion. My only problem was the use of the word cunt. I'm not really a fan of swearing in e-Feds, I guess it stems from the fact you'd never hear it in mainstream wrestling, so why would you in an e-Fed? I have noticed a few uses of the word fuck already in the show, but cunt just seemed like the next level. Don't get me wrong, cunt if my favourite swear word... But just not in an e-fed segment.

The Interview- I don't know why but whenever I picture Haynes, I see that Colin. Delaney guy from ECW, especially in this segment where he was bandaged up in hospital. Interesting bit of character development for Haynes here.

PCW Onslaught #6
The Reviewing binge continues!

Don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before, but I enjoy the “Previously on...” at the start. Helps job the memory of what happened on the previous show. Also, bring the heat is a good little tag line for PCW.

A Forced Hand: Loved the title of this segment, calling back to Omega’s line about forcing Hess’ hand the previous show.

Hess vs. Omega: Didn’t expect this at all. Field Plows right out of the gate was awesome. Gryphon pulling Omega out of the ring to regroup is kind of a heel manoeuvre, and the roles were reversed a little. That is until Omega slid back into the ring like the valiant Canadian hero that he is. Great commentary line about the Field Plow knocking something lose in Omega’s head as he tries to suplex Hess... note to HFX and ShaneO, Omega better Suplex Hess in the Oblivion Handicap match to pay off this spot. Great action, really good sequence with Knight and Barry distracting Omega, allowing Hess to recover. The miss on the dive was sick. I really love Omega using the Lone Wolf Bite, it’s a nice nod to his history with S.T. Best finish possibly really, and I feel there’s a longer and even better rematch to be had between Omega & Hess down the road.

The Battle Lines Are Drawn: Short and sweet little promo to set up the Handicap Match. I think this match is the right call, as all five characters have been integral in making this feud so damn good.

Ace Is Coming: Not a bad little promo here. I was more intrigued by the first half than the second half I have to say. If only for the intensity it brought. The tortured childhood thing is definitely overplayed in Sim Fedding, as mentioned before, and better suits the roleplaying feds. That’s always been my thoughts on it. As I always say, isn’t it enough that these wrestling characters just want to wrestle? Once we got into intentionally getting people’s name wrong territory, I felt it ran out of steam a little bit but I did enjoy the "I want my name/face on merchandise” stuff. From a writing standpoint, very good, content wise, bit of a mixed bag.

Don’t Screw It Up: Pro-Wrestling for Dummies. Tremendous. Magnum Phillips is one of my favourite characters in PCW right now. He just has that bad ass vibe to him, and yeah sure, he’s a total prick, but he’s the kind of total prick you love. He’s Taj is what I’m getting at.

Magnum Phillips & The Master vs. Orion Bishop & Hiroshi Sato: This was a good little start to a match. Magnum and The Master’s little interaction was great and I loved Magnum decking The Master to tag himself in. Nice little call back to the previous show with Sato taking out Magnum, leading to the standoff between Magnum and Bishop. Shame the match wasn’t completed as what there is of it, is a lot of fun.

Growing Threat: Poor Sato. Another good little nod to Miller’s Associate. I still have no idea where this is going but as I said before, I can’t wait to find out.

The Buck Stops Here: I have to say, I’m not overly fond of the swearing. It has it has place. I’ve done it once or twice. But here, I didn’t really feel appropriate, and just cause we can do it, doesn’t always mean we should. I liked the fire and it really did a lot to flesh out Magnum and Magnum’s motivations as a character. I do wonder where this goes, and the retirement angle does feel a bit familiar seeing as we’ve just kind of done the same thing with Omega and Hess. We’ll see how it plays out.

The Gate to Oblivion: Nick Foster is on fire. This was a money promo. I want to see Miller vs. Foster. Nothing more needs to be said.

Zaid vs. Nick Foster: This is the type of match in real life I’d complain about a company doing before a PPV. Both guys have feud ending matches at Oblivion and could do with the momentum so booking them against one another benefits nobody. But seeing as this is PCW, I’ll just enjoy it for what it is. Zaid for me, is one of the most under rated characters we have. Miler coming out and distracting Foster in the early going was a nice touch. I like that Foster’s in ring stuff reflects the “Suplex and submit” t-shirt he was wearing earlier ... good psychology and good way to build the character further. Miller’s distractions were all very well worked and the finish to the match was beautifully executed. Really good stuff.

Shadow of the Assassin: Miller feigning the chair shot is a perfect character moment for him. He could take Foster out right here and now, but he’d rather play mind games and let nick think about. This was a good counterbalance in terms of promos, to Nick Foster’s earlier challenge. The fucking British cunt line might have been too much, and again, goes back to the swearing thing. But this is a deeply personal rivalry, and if it’s gonna be done, I’d prefer it be done in this sort of feud than a throw away backstage promo.

The Interview: Is this the last of Haynes? I hope not. This was a good little promo once it got down to Kaiser Cavanah and it would be poetic justice of sorts if Haynes returns to take the belt off Kaiser.

All’s Fair in Love & War: Another really strong little segment here. Zaid is a first class douchebag and my god is it glorious. Gia’s somewhat guarded responses played off him perfectly, to the point where I’m not sure what’s gonna happen. Is she intrigued by Zaid, could we be in for a possibly turn at Oblivion? I didn’t think so but this segment has me questioning, which is a mark of good writing. Gia getting caught up and taking an elbow was great, Zaid laying one on her was better, and the final image of Gia kind of caught in the middle trying to piece it all together was perfect. This angle has been all about her essentially and that image alone raises the question of what’s gonna happen.

NRC vs. The Brother’s Comeau: Nice touch with the 1 and 0 after the team names. Wanted to do a different sort of match to the one at Escalation so I jumped straight into the action, having NRC bust out their big moves early, trying to put Carter away. Toned down on the dissension between Brody and Dale a little. It was the vocal point of Match One so we couldn’t do it all over again, less this feel like a rehash of that. Tried to include some psychology in what was mostly just a balls to the wall spot fest, calling back to the Spear reversal spot and taking it a step further. Also with the Repeat Offender Achievement gimmick, as we used the same Goomba Stomp/Tornado DDT spot from the Escalation match. Gonna have to figure out a way to top that the final match at Oblivion. The conclusion with Dale setting up the Polaroid was supposed to be a cue that he and Brody are on the same page, which I hope came across. Fun as hell match to write. I have a feeling the 3rd is gonna be insane.

Law & Disorder: So when I saw Daz and Kaiser would be having a contract singing, I was actually kinda worried, because in the promo the week before, I’d mentioned that Daz had already signed the contract for the match. Imagine my surprise when I read what Kaiser had written for this segment, and he actually called back to that. I seriously kinda popped internally for the continuity of it. His side of the promo too, really blew me away. I was feeling pretty sick at the time of writing it, I had the fever going, the whole nine yards, and I read this and was like “Jesus.” Cause I knew I had to bring it when it came time to write. I wasn’t too happy with what I’d written when I sent it in. There were some points I forgot to make, some I don’t think were as clear as they could have been. I really wanted to drive home the “This is all I have. I can’t exist without this” stuff and wish I could have taken another pass or two at it. So the kind comments are most welcome, and I’m a little bit relieved. I already know what I want to do with Kaiser/Daz so I hope Kaiser is on the same wave length. I’m hoping the match can top the build, which is gonna be a tough ask.

I'm interested in who reads the shows besides the regular PCW people.

Just a reminder, you can get caught up on PCW storylines fairy quickly by reading the "Quick Results" on the very bottom of the PDFs.
