I would love to see him in WWE if this is true, but I know WWE would just bury him.

I would love to see what this guy could achieve in WWE. I don't think they would bury him. He is a huge name and a think WWE would capitalize on that.

This is a huge blow for TNA.

I'm really sad, I was looking forward to seeing him at the Maximum Impact tour next year :(

Yeah, this is probably the final straw for me watching TNA. It's been getting steadily worse lately, and I keep hoping they'll turn things around but it's not happening. I think it's time to step away now. Styles returning was something I was looking forward to, so to hear he's left the company is very demoralising.

It brings to light a number of problems in TNA. First, that they're unable to reach a deal with their franchise wrestler, shows how lousy their priorities are. You think there's any chance that Styles is making as much money as some of the former WWE/WCW guys who generally contribute less to the show?

It also shows that they're really badly organised at the moment. The idea that they built up towards his title win for a year, and even had him win the title, when he both didn't have a full-time contract and they weren't confident that they could sign him to one ... it's ludicrous. If they were so far away from making a deal, someone else should have won the Bound For Glory series. It would have been better in the long run.

I must admit I don't generally take much notice when of the rumours and news reports saying TNA is in trouble but now I'm starting to wonder a bit about what is actually going on.

Well for years everyone always just said TNA was on the verge of going out of business, simply so they could brag about it if they turned out to be right. And also because the wrestling fan base have a really small basis of comparison and will therefore constantly try and make a TNA shaped peg fit into a WCW sized hole, which rarely works. For the longest time, it was easy to dismiss rumours about the company doing badly because most of them sounded like educated guesses at best and complete nonsense at worst.

But they are definitely in a downward spiral at the moment. I'm not going to predict their imminent demise, because it's unlikely they will go out of business any time soon. But it is becoming clear that their lack of funds is beginning to have an adverse effect on the company.

I do have to wonder if this is a work. Ya know the old this guy doesn't work here and boom he shows up.

It still could be a work, but it would be horrendous writing if it is one.

For starters, Styles has already been off television for weeks. Having him come back just to leave immediately again would just be stalling the progression of his story. And the pay off the second time wouldn't mean nearly as much.

Second of all, this is not a work that makes people more excited about the show. It makes them less excited. If they think one of their favourite stars has retired, that's a bad thing for the company. Why would they pretend that one of their top names couldn't make it work with the owner, because she sucks? That doesn't help their image at all.

I don't fully trust this news, but when looking at the TNA results for the next couple weeks, it's obvious they're in a downward spiral so it wouldn't surprise me if Styles does end up leaving (for real).

I don't know what to think about this. I have been a long time TNA supporter but even I am having issues watching it. For the longest time I found myself only skipping threw commercials when I watched it on DVR but for the last 4 months or so I have found myself skipping threw more and more to the point I have been completing a show in under 45 minutes.
I assumed that TNA was doing their own version of the summer of punk angle with styles leaving and submitting video's of him wrestling in japan and mexico while holding the title. And it made sense because why would they invest money and air time if he was not staying?

I am afraid that even if drastic changes take place in TNA the outlook for them would still look bleak. It would take a major change or shakeup for things to turn around and it would start by removing the carter family from the mix.

Never been a huge TNA fan. But This doesn't look good for them. AJ IS TNA. I've seen the man's work and he is very impressive. I honestly don't want him back in a WWE ring. He is good but he may be too good. I;m not sure where he would fit.
