You can always skip. :lol

It doesn't give me the option?

There's two different stories, the first I can skip, the second I can't.

You mean the little recap when you load your save?

Yeah it's odd. Kind of annoying.

Ugh I hate that thing, too. It's supposed to be to remind you of where you were but if you die often (like me), it's so grating. It covers up a loading screen is what it's primarily showing. I'd prefer the loading screen.

It doesn't play for any set length of time, just as long as it takes to load. You'll find in the smaller areas like Vizima and Kaer Morhen you'll be able to skip and jump right in a lot quicker.

Oh, thought you meant the first one that comes when you start the game up.

I don't really mind the second one that comes when you load up your save, usually because I'll tend to go days between playing and like being reminded of what's going on.

The big issue I have is the loading screen after you die. It's so long.

Really getting sucked into this game now, I've put about 21 hours into it. Definitely a lot to do.

I do have some gripes though.

-The environments are beautiful, but very few are interactive, at least to the extent I'd like to see in a game of this scope. Like, the cities... especially Novigrad, it's so huge but you can hardly go into any of the buildings or interact with any of the items, and there is basically no reason for me to walk around and explore it because it's an empty environment. A beautiful one, sure, but there's relatively little placed within it to engage me. It reminds me of some of the gold GTA games in that regard, but at least you could get on top of a lot of the buildings with helicopters or run around killing pedestrians and shit :P

-The score, while beautiful, gets old pretty quickly, especially the fight music.

On the other hand, I do like the strategic nature of fighting the monsters, as well as just how much there is to do in terms of side quests and contracts. But I don't feel quite the same urge to explore this world as I do with other open-world games like Skyrim or Fallout or Red Dead Redemption. It lacks some life, IMO.
