Not really. Facebook is a much greater tool of gathering data on you than Google, all things considered - especially now that Google have the "right to be forgotten".
I just looked this up because it seemed like something was being left out here, and the feature you're referring to is basically a potential upcoming optional add-on that people can use like Shazaam, where you play a bit of what you're listening to while you're making a status update and it tells you what the song is, and you can share that with your friends. It's not like they're constantly listening to you at all times.
Optional, but still shady as fuck. I never said they were listening to you at all times either, only when you're making a status - but the fact that a company have issued an app which can remotely turn on phone microphones and listen to what you're doing is weird. Soon enough, I can see the feature becoming compulsory, too.
Facebook just seem to be constantly increasing the range of information they want you to share, so they can data mine you. I genuinely don't understand why so many people are okay with the things they do, even going to the extent where they defend the company's actions.
