You can refuse until you are blue in the face, it won't stop it from happening.

Re: PCW Oblivion Pay-Per-View FULL SHOW

Postby Tom » Mar 12, '14, 8:11 pm

I have not read the entire show yet but thought I would get my comments down to generate a bit of discussion at the early stages.

Ladder Match
As my first PCW match to read (I think), it was a pleasant surprise when it was announced as a ladder match. These things always have the potential to be fun. I had heard that Brothers Comeau and Neo Runway Chic had delivered some awesome matches before so I was looking forward to it. The start of the match was hard for me to get into though it was no fault of the writers. This was my first time reading a match involving both teams so the changing nature of the names as well as other adjectives used to describe the characters confused me at times. Again, that was no fault of the writers though and more so was down to myself trying to adapt to a number of characters at one time.

I like the idea of Brody and Dale not being on the same page. I had my own ideas for a tag team which consisted of partners who had their differences but Daz seems to be pulling this one off to a tee. Even the idea that Brody would sommersault over the top ropes, and the mentioning that he also took out his partner was a good touch, especially since Dale helped avoid Brody getting hit with an aerial assault beforehand. Great storytelling, and that continued on throughout the match as well (Dale hitting Brody accidentally with the ladder whilst spinning etc).

Overall, there was just some great action in this one (neckbreaker off the ladder, back cracker off the ladder etc) and some of the double team manouvres involving the ladder was awesome. Adding things like that to a match is what distinguishes the normal singles ladder matches in comparison to the tag team ones. The chemistry between both teams was highly evident and the counters were awesome. You really got the feeling that these were two teams who knew each other very well but were now fighting in a somewhat different environment than there last encounters.

The finish was all kinds of awesome. For a bit I completely forgot about that table that was introduced earlier. Usually I am not a fan of bringing tables into ordinary ladder matches but this was done sparingly and added to the excitement, and gave a climatic finish to the match. Great match, that highlighted both teams movesets extremely well, integrated them with the ladders that led to some exciting action and had an overall feel good moment with NRC winning the belts and apparently being on the same page now. Well done guys. I just hope all four of them can afford the medical bills that are on their way, especially Carter :lol.

Good Luck Mate
Nice little segment here to build up both Daz/Kaiser and more so Foster/Miller. It was good seeing the two British stars seemingly on the same page. And it also reminds me that I must give that Escalation match a read over at a later date also.

Magnum Phillips vs Orion Bishop
When I was familiarising myself with the roster and the card earlier, and found out Brett and Tim were writing this one, I was immediately intrigued. Seeing both writers try and find success with new characters in a fed that they are not running is weird to say the least :lol.

This one was physical from the start, and kinda continued on from the chaos of the last match but in a much lighter tone. Both characters immediately come across as straight out brawlers, this was very smash mouthed and physical. We really got to see what Magnum Phillips is all about in this match as well. He comes across as mouthy but in an aggressive way as opposed to an arrogant way. He comes across as someone who wants to beat his opponent by the most embarassing yet damaging means possible as well.

The Two Boot Salute was awesome and I am hoping that more of Phillips's matches end like this. It would really distinguish him as a character, being a guy who actually wins by knockout as opposed to pinning his opponent. I look forward to reading more of Orion Bishop as well who I'm sure will really come into his own in the near future. Good match guys!

Reap What You Sow
Buck reteurning? That is pretty awesome. I think Devine was still in the mid card the last time he was hovering around the WCSF :lol. This did what it was supposed to do in an extremely simple fashion yet made me look forward to the next interaction even more. The high flier Buck and the physcial style of Phillips should make this one stylistically interesting, especially giving the writers involved. That is assuming Buck will actually come back to wrestle, which is of course looking extremely likely. Welcome back to the sim fedding world Buck.

Interview - Zaid
Zaid seems like he is going to be an interesting character. Being an 'A Lister' gives him great opportunity as a heel, he already comes across as unlikable. His interview style was good as well, presenting the fact that the PCW interviewer wasn't worthy of interviewing him. I like what I read here. Now onto the match.

Johnny Valentino vs Zaid
This was a good little match that told a nice little story in its short time frame. I really liked Zaid's interaction with Valentino, and Gia for that matter. Once again, he presented himself as a character that is unlikable. The only thing about this match that I would suggest in the future would be to add more emotion at times. The moment at the end, with Gia assisting Valentino in getting the victory seems like one the crowd would have popped for and I would have included some interaction there. It was a good match though, that seemingly told the story it was supposed to well so kudos for that. I am looking forward to seeing how both characters progress from here.

I will continue reading and writing my comments tomorrow. Its 2am here and I need to get meself some sleep. What I have read so far has been great though, I am really looking forward to continuing on tomorrow!

Continuing what I have read thus far:

Promo - JJ and BJ
Decent promo here to introduce another team to the division. It seems as if the tag division is lacking teams at the moment so it certainly is a niche for people looking to sign up characters in the fed. Looking forward to reading more from these, it wouldn't surprise me if they are brought straight into a tag title match.

3 on 2 Handicap Match
To say I was surprised to see Sean Knight involved with The Disciples would be an understatement. Knight and Hess hated each other from what i remember. So that was an interesting surprise to say the least. I have not read anything from Gryphon but had heard he was Omega's protege so I was looking forward to reading my first match involving him.

It was a good start to this match. I always like the idea that Hess comes across as the leader, and that all the evil revolves around him. Gryphon wanting Hess in the ring but Barry tagging himself in was a great way to make Gryphon angrier at not getting the man he wanted. For some reason, I am imagining Gryphon as looking like Rene Dupree. Maybe its Dupree's physique combined with the power of Gryphon. I like Gryphon's style though. The power movesets taken by many characters makes it a bit different than the WCSF in my opinion.

One criticism of the match for me is that it was a little bit repetitive at times. The hot tags varying between Omega and Gryphon. It would have been good to see the dynamic of Omega and Gryphon and see how they reacted when in control mid match but I felt we didn't see that as much as I would have liked. Still, Gryphon really stood out in this for me, and put on a hell of a performance; probably outshining his mentor. The final portion of the match was very exciting, really put across the atmosphere and emotion of the match as well. The Disciples winning really makes them a force to be reckoned with as well, I look forward to seeing what is in store for them. As for Gryphon and Omega, I can actually eventually see them splitting and possible having a grudge feud of their own. However, in the meantime, I wouldn't mind seeing them compete in the tag division, which in my opinion needs more teams.

Continuing on with my comments:

Ace is Coming
I liked this promo, Ace come across as pretty intense, someone who may struggle to control his anger, and showed alot more character than he did during his WCSF run. He could make for an interesting character. I wouldn't be surprised if he feuds with Orion Bishop next, which would be a pretty intense encounter.

Last Man Standing Match
When I read that this match was taking place I was immediately looking forward to it. Spencer Miller has always been an entertaining character capable of having good matches and his character seems to have switched it up a gear further since his WCSF run. Meanwhile, Foster was on the verge of establishing himself as the most promising upcoming face character before the WCSF finished. So it was always going to be interesting.

I really liked the opening stages of this match. It was intense; really intense yet it didn't need the use of weapons to convey this. Great writing. I was very surprised at Foster attempting pinfalls during the match, I though he would have been a little more experienced that to do something like that but it was a good way to show that maybe his aggressive emotions was blinding his judgement. Some of the little touches in this match were awesome as well, like the use of closed fists. Such a simple addition yet it also conveyed the hatred Miller had for Foster.

There was some really brutal action in this one. The work on Miller's leg read extremely painful, but Miller can blame himself for that for missing so many shots and putting himself in danger :P. Meanwhile, the chair shot to Foster was conveyed very well, and was definately a game changer in it. The action after this was nothing short of phenomenal. Miller goading Foster, throwing everything but the kitchen sink to try and put him away but Foster refusing to stay down. The little touch by the fan to inspire Foster to get up was a great moment. And the Samoan Drop on the tum tacks. Some awesome spots there, followed by the table break. I wonder if as many tables will be broken in the PCW pay per views as they were during the WCSF ones :lol. The finish was good as well, I really thought neither man would stand up once Foster hit the FCC off the ramp but that wasn't the case. Foster wins, and one can only imagine what is next for him from there. The only thing that can top it would be a championship match. As for Miller, he put on a great performance. His new, aggressive demeanor really shone in this match and I am sure this isn't the last great match nor feud we will have in PCW. Great stuff guys, well done!

I will update my thoughts on the main event after I have read it. It'll probably take me a while but I am sure it will be nothing short of epic!

That's quite the video package to get us kicked off! Kinda cool to get those brief flashes back at the beginnings of PCW. Good choice of music too :tim

That Oblivion logo is sweet. Well done Daz, I'm ready to head to Jurassic Park now!

Oh shit we've even got pictures and shit now maaaaaan this shit's cray

PCW GOIN ON THE ROAD! Big news. Chicago's gonna miss us though.

I like the decision to start with the tag team match. Get some gold out there right away. Tornado tag rules definitely gets things a bit more interesting, I like it. My earlier comment still stands, I'd like to see a little less of Burke so we can stay away from inevitable authority figure storylines... I think that's a little well-worn territory at this point. And a ladder match now?!?! This gets even better. I dig it.

Tag Team Championships - OK, this is probably going to be a beast of a match. The bit with Chambers' shoes was great, haha. Some really good action in the early going. Particularly enjoyed that double bodyslam spot. I always forget which Comeau is the bigger one, so that was a nice way to remind me haha. As in any match written by Daz there were a few moves I had to look up... Sasuke Special and the Meia Whatever kick comes to mind. I'm glad you write for such talented wrestlers, I don't feel as pressured to put so many moves into my matches that way :P

Carter dropping a double body slam and a plancha in the same match? Heh, I dig it. One of my favorite things about tag matches in WCSF and PCW is that we always seem to get one or two creative combo moves in the bigger matches, and there were definitely several to be had here. The double Star Punch, double baseball slide, there were a lot of those sprinkled throughout the match and that adds a lot. It gives you something to look out for that you don't see in singles matches (obviously).

I was looking forward to things starting to get more violent after some of the earlier action. The ladders coming into play definitely kicked things into the next gear. There was one awesome spot where one of the Comeaus runs up the ladder like a ramp to go into a dropkick... that was sweet. And of course, no great ladder match is complete without a helicopter spot :lol. I'm not a big fan of "This is Awesome" chants, but at least it got the audience involved. If I had one major critique of this match it'd be that while the action was great, we didn't necessarily get a feeling for the emotion from the crowds and announcers as much, and that really adds a ton to a match. It's easy to start skimming over words when the commentary or other factors aren't drawing you in. I find that those types of things make me more keen to latch on to every word.

Red ring of death... definitely not an achievement you want to unlock on Xbox haha. There were some pretty sick spots toward the end of this match too. Back body drop off the ladder sounds devastating... RIP Adrian Dale. Carter strung up by a leg made me actually cringe. "Dale may sneak in the back door..." I bet he will. OOOO Carter through a table! Great escalating action to end the match. I think this one could have been quite a bit shorter, but there was definitely plenty of great action to be had. Ugh I wrote too much already. This show is gonna take forever to get through. We need page limits for PPVs, desperately.

Good luck mate - Nice little interaction between these two guys. They're the only two really strong faces on the roster right now (Bishop/Valentino still are establishing themselves, and Omega's been so hard edged in his feud ... Richard too ... they almost don't come off as pure babyfaces sometimes) so it was a nice dynamic.

Brett's and my stuff was obviously the best on the show so I'm not going to bore you by talking about how awesome it is. Working with Buck (I presume that's where this is going) should be cool, I'm not sure we've ever done so before.

Zaid interview - Zaid going full Randy Moss in this interview :lol Great stuff. Zaid keeps getting better every week

Zaid vs. Valentino - Was definitely looking forward to this one! JDD's biggest PPV match yet as a writer, and HCL is definitely a good person to be working with in that situation. Kind of an interesting in-match story to start things off here with Valentino showing restraint. The thought is that he's probably trying to get back in Gia's good graces, I presume? Anyway, good stuff. Did a nice job of building up the inner conflict there, half of him wanting to let up, half wanting to beat the tar outta Zaid. The way things suddenly came to a head at the end was great. Zaid's cockiness FINALLY got the better of him, and it was great to see the concern come back into Gia's face. Gia helping Johnny out to get the win was a great touch, and I gotta say, I'm slightly shocked that Valentino actually won. I'm glad he did though, it did feel like he was getting the short end of the stick a lot in this feud. This was a great example of how a shorter match can still be very entertaining and tell a great story. NIcely done guys, looking forward to seeing where you go from here.

JJ and BJ - I saw these guys get added to the roster so I figured we must be about to see a new team. These guys already seem great. SCOTT JOPLIN WAS BLACK? IS THAT FOR REAL? MY MIND IS SERIOUSLY BLOWN RIGHT NOW WTF.

Handicap - OK last thing I read tonight. IT BETTER BE GOOD GODDAMMIT

Still trying to get the hang of Gryphon as a character, I guess I just need to make more of an effort with him considering he's a new character paired up with all old ones. He certainly seems to have a bit of a temper, which cost him in the early going trying to get his hands on Hess. I like Omega leading the crowd on in chants, it sort of gives the vibe that he's a lot more comfortable in this sort of situation than Gryphon, which plays into the vet/rookie dynamic they've got going on here. As much as I'm enjoying the Disciples together, I'm looking forward to seeing what Ted Barry can do by himself some day. Maybe it'd be a good idea to try to emphasize him more within the group? I remember once the Mafia started fleshing out its other characters more beyond just Devine, that was when the group really hit its stride. Not sure if Knight's writer is even around any more.

I digress. Omega's always in pain, it's a rough life :lol. Just a suggestion, but it'd be kind of cool to see Omega have to slightly alter his moveset due to the years of punishment he's taken and due to some slight ring rust after being partially retired. Maybe he can't quite hit some of his old standby moves? IDK, just something to think about. It is cool though that Gryphon has gotten to be the hot tag so often in this match. The vet relying on the protege. Interesting decision keeping Hess's entrance until later on. It gave his entrance into the match a bit more weight. Gryphon getting in some work... this match has definitely put him over stronger than he's been so far in his other matches, so that's great. I still think his character is overshadowed by Omega's, but now we're at least starting to get a sense that maybe he at this point in his career as actually more of a physical threat than Omega, which is a nice element to their relationship. #FIELDPLOW but Gryphon saves the day OOOO BABY. Using Omega's bandages as a weapon... that's definitely something new! And another #FIELDPLOW. Nice way to end this match. A second surprise finish for me in a row, I definitely expected Omega and Richard to win this one. Gotta wonder where all these characters go from here, I feel like this has to be the end of this story.

Ok, that's all for tonight. I'll pick up starting with Ace's segment either tomorrow or Friday. Good stuff so far, if a bit long. And it's only gonna get longer... :lol

OBLIVION

Great effort on the opening video package. Feels like the end of the first era of PCW if you will, bringing to a close the first set of stories and feuds. Well highlighted in the video, which are a bitch to write. I know from experience.

Neo Runway Chic vs. The Brother’s Comeau – This was fun to write. It’s always tricky when you’ve had three matches with somebody to keep things fresh. I deliberately reserved a couple of moves from all four guys move sets so we’d have something to build into here. I managed to work in a lot of call-backs to their previous matches, although I wanted to do the Spear avoidance deal from the first two matches, but couldn’t find a spot to work it in. I loved the From Paris to Milan spot, with the stomp onto the ladder and moonsault onto the floor. Felt rewarding trying to logistically plan that one out in my head, finding a way for Calvin to get a ladder on the floor and Dale to have one in the ring. I think I only used 3 ladders throughout the whole match.

I hate it in matches like this when weapons just seem to appear from nowhere, they get used, then they disappear. I like to have a little bit of setup, like the table, like the ladder that got propped up in the corner etc. I did have to cut the entire finish sequence cause things got a little overlong. I’d set the limit of 16 pages for myself but that went by the wayside. Writing these fucking setups and trying to keep track of four guys somehow seems to double the paragraph length. Besides Carter’s fall through the table was about as high a climax as I was gonna get anyways. No point dragging things out after that. I’m disappointed I didn’t get to do the Hashtagger onto the edge of a ladder though, that would have been brutal. Or the rope running Hilo of Brody’s. Maybe next time.

Good Luck Mate – Simple little segment here. Hope I did Foster justice with it. Another example of the strength in booking thus far to be honest, calling back to previous events and the last promo these two guys shared.

Magnum Phillips vs. Orion Bishop – Good match to contrast the fast pace affair that was the opener. I feel like we should give the referee’s names … is that just me? Really nice start this one, playing up Magnum’s mean streak, then Bishop giving him a taste of his own medicine (especially with the rib kick … good psychology). Really good physical beating for both guys. I love the fact Magnum is ambidextrous, so he can dish out some left boots and fists without any trouble. Good character trait. The setup and delivery of the Two Boot Salute was excellent. Good little match that helped put over both characters.

Reap What You Sow – Seven Years? Buckeroo, I seem to recall Daz handing you your ass in 2009. Just sayin’. Good way to continue the feud between Phillips and Buck. I love the way these stories have bled into one another and now Magnum is done with Bishop, we’re already to go with Buck vs. Magnum.

Zaid Interview – What a glorious asshole this guy is. Love him conducting the interview himself and the line about kissing Gia was so sleazy. Zaid has really been standing out with his segments and promo stuff. Looking forward to seeing if it translates to the in ring action.

Zaid vs. Johnny Valentino – Nice touch at the start with Johnny V. opening the ropes for Gia, only for Gia to walk around the ring. Plays into the story nicely and opens up the possibility of a swerve latter on. Dug Valentino’s early assault, then getting caught up with Gia on the outside, allowing Zaid to recover. Zaid’s little touches, like telling Gia it’s all for her, continued to demonstrate what a fun character he is. Clever little finish, with Gia distracting Zaid with a kiss, allowing Johnny V to recover and deliver his finisher for the victory. Right, I will say I’d like to have seen a little more emotion from Gia at ringside. The touches when she showed concern for Johnny V was great, needed a little more of it. Also, the action reflected the feelings of Johnny V nicely, but I wanted to see a tad more of it through the character himself. Also, I don’t know whether or not it was intention but there was only one cover in the match, before the finish. It made the finish feel really abrupt. Valentino getting the win was definitely the right call as he’s been fighting from underneath the entire feud. I hope to see a united front between him and Gia on the follow up Onslaught.

JJ & BJ Promo – Well this was odd. The good sort of odd. The smartass kind of odd. New tag team? Hope so.

The Disciples vs. Canadian Wrecking Crew – Not sure how I feel about this one starting with a lockup considering the history between them, although it was nice to break up the pattern of the brawling starts. Nice early spot where Richard gets distracted by Barry, allowing Sean to roll him up from behind. I’d like to have seen the numbers game played up a little on commentary, which was used sparingly in the early portions. I agree with Tim in the sense that I’d like to see Knight and Barry highlighted within the group. They’re both strong characters, Barry has come along so well and I’d like to see him get a little bit more of spotlight. Tagging in to protect Hess from Richard’s rage is an interesting way to do that.

Omega playing the face in peril was an interesting choice. I like it a lot, as it reverses the dynamic of veteran/rookie as Omega has to rely on protégé. Best way to highlight Richard and make him feel important. Good fake out on the tag, and the ref not seeing it. That’s something you don’t see a lot of in simming. Really liked it. Teasing Hess’ entry into the match was very well done. The little things like pulling down the ropes and directing traffic, only to come in, drop an elbow and expect to pick up the victory were excellent. His reaction to Omega kicking out was a nice touch as well.

Omega’s hot tag, whoever thought of the bandages, kudos. That was very clever. Hah, Canadian Wrecking Crew. It’s catching on. Omega surviving the first #Field Plow … I can’t wait until the inevitable segment where Hess is told he’s a hashtag twitter sensation and the Amishman no sells it completely, cause he has no idea what twitter or hashtags are … only for Richard to make the save was great. Nice callback to Omega’s bandages, using them to tie Richard to the post, so he can’t save Omega from the second #Field Plow.

The finish was the right one. A dominant group like The Disciples shouldn’t be losing to two men, even if those two men are two bad ass Canadians. I hope to see Hess vs. Omega one on one, perhaps some gimmick match down the road. Or could we see the return of Flash, to make this 3 vs. 3? Either way, this feud doesn’t quite feel over, but I expect we’ll see some sort of interlude in the meantime.

Ace is Coming - I like the self-aware nature of the promo. It added a little more edge to things. He seems to be the jumpy sort, and I’m intrigued to see how this plays out.

Last Man Standing, Foster vs. Miller – Really good work on commentary and in setting up the tone of the match ahead during the entrances. Not a lot of people put a great deal of focus on this stuff, but I find it’s equally, if not more important than the match itself. You can tell half the story through the entrances. Really well written stuff in the early going, capturing the physicality nicely. Lots of nice stuff from Foster, adding moves to his repertoire. I think Foster as a character and prophet as a writer are really blossoming at the moment. Daz and Foster would have a hell of a match, trying to see who could out-Suplex and out-Submission who.

Nice touch with Foster instinctively going for the cover, and the reminder that this is Last Man Standing. Great back and forth, lots of good moments for Foster, leading to the great Escalation call back, as Miller cracks Nick with the chair. Really physical beat down by Miller, and a nice little hope spot for Foster as he teases the FCC. Really good commentary again, putting over how devastating Miller’s attacks are.

I didn’t expect tacks. Great spot with the Samoan Drop and a gruesome visually of Miller pulling them out. Really well written. The strike exchange and Miller biting Miller, just all really well done. Nick busting out the Stretch Muffler was awesome, returning to the psychology of working over the leg. Loved the Shane Evans allusion with the Kendo Stick. Really enjoyed how much of a nuisance Miller was in this match. That’s the only term to really describe him. Able to wriggle out of tight jams and regain control at the desperate of moments.

This was excellent. The right kind of crazy without ever really crossing the line. The finish was the right note to go out on, as the drama escalated to that point and it very much felt like a climax. Foster and Miller both came out of this looking great, and it was one hell of a fight, as I knew it would be. Match of the Night for me. You guys killed it.

Tale of the Tape – Loved this. PCW has had a lot of unique little things that have helped set PCW apart from almost anywhere else I’ve been. This was a really good little touch that helped lead into an already very hyped Main Event.

Kaiser vs. Daz –I really loved writing this. Kaiser and I had some discussion beforehand, he kinda just let me play ring-general if you will, which suits me nicely. Lots of little storylines going on in this one, leading up to the big table spot. Kaiser killed his half of the match. The commentary was great and the closing sequence really captured what I wanted from the match, and what I envisioned when pitching the finish to Kaiser. Kaiser didn’t want to go overboard with the finishers and kick outs in the final stretch, which I think was the right call. We had a few rollups and a few signature moves, but this wasn’t the type of match that needed any more than that.

He came up with the multiple failed Kaiser Bombs, playing off the arm work earlier in the match. That wasn’t something I’d even considered, and it played nicely into the Tiger Driver ’91 bit, where Daz gets dropped on his head. He really sold Kaiser’s reaction to Daz’s kickouts at the end beautifully, beyond anything that I could have done. It made the finish all the stronger. Writing in the 14:59 to play off the contract signing promo, with Kaiser being all about the fame etc, was something I wanted to throw in. I think that’s where the collaboration part of writing together comes in. Kaiser had originally written it as a Cross Armbreaker, but was gracious enough to let me change a thing or two. Together, I think we’ve been able to piece together one of my best matches. So thanks to Kaiser for that.

It was hard not to come at this and want to throw all your ideas into the mix, as I’ve been wanting to write with Kaiser for a long time now. This was me with restraint … so be grateful it’s not any longer. Kaiser is every bit as good as I thought he would be, glad I got the chance to write with him, hope to write with him again at some point.

This show was excellent, every bit as good as Escalation. I thought it flew by and seemed to get through it really quickly. Admittedly I could speed read through two of the longest match on the show, but everything really held my attention, so much so I wanted to get through it quicker. Looking forward to Onslaught.

Ladder Match: We knew we had to spice up the last match in the Best of 3 Series a bit, and Ali suggested that we pull an Armageddon 2006 and announce the ladder match on the show as a surprise. Nice bit of strength display by Carter. I loved the over-the-top-rope spots before the ladders even came into play, as you would imagine a match like this being energetic and fast paced to get the PPV started on a roll. Man, the pace of this match is awesome! Reminds me of some X-Division stuff from early TNA. The finish spot was a nice one, and I appreciate that Daz had the senses to use a wooden table because the Announce table does get used later on. If I had to critique this match, I’d say that maybe there was too much action. Slowing the match down at times, emphasizing what's happened before we get into the next spot would have helped out. Otherwise, this was an outstanding match. It was insane. Exceeded my expectations for sure. Hell of a way to get the PPV kicked off! And makes me think we should put a little more consideration into the PCW X-Division idea...

Magnum vs Orion: I was looking forward to this one quite a bit. It was everything I wanted. A tough, hard-hitting matchup that made Magnum look absolutely despicable. I liked the finish, where Magnum could have just pinned Bishop but chose to go for the TKO instead. Pretty cool. I also like that Orion got to look strong throughout a good portion of this matchup. Since Brett is going to keep Orion around for awhile, it’s good to see him looking good here. The post-match segment was perfect. Man, I’m really looking forward to the full-on Buck/Magnum feud from here. It will be interesting to see how Magnum responds to this.

Zaid vs Johnny Valentino: The interview before the match was vintage Zaid, haha. Interesting emotions (or lack thereof) shown by Gia at the beginning of the match. Really gets the crowd guessing on what her feelings are towards this whole situation so far. So great job with that. The match itself impressed me as well. Johnny V came out of the gate strong as expected, yet still managed to remain composed and not lose complete control like he has on some episodes. I think that does a nice job of building him up as a strong-willed character that hasn’t completely succumbed to Zaid’s mind games just yet. My only criticism of this match was that it seemed to end rather abruptly. I would have liked to see Zaid dominate a bit more before getting pinned, to give the impression that Johnny V was really in trouble. Other than that, you guys did a good job here and really hit all the right notes with all 3 of these characters and their storyline.

Disciples vs Canadian Wrecking Crew: I liked the start where Gryphon wanted Hess but Barry went in there instead. The whole dynamic of the biggest and most dangerous man in the matchup not getting in there for a long time was a very interesting story, I thought. Hess is the best character in PCW and what makes him such an awesome heel is that he can Field Plow your ass to kingdom come if he wants to, but he picks his fights. He’s a dominator when he has to be, but he’s cerebral and evil at the same time. I liked all 3 Disciples holding Omega in the corner. The anticipated tag to Hess was well done, nice job playing up the story with the commentary. Hess targeting the weakened Omega leading up to the FIELDPLOW~! was nicely done. And the finish was great. Overall, a pretty good fast-paced match that made everybody look good and added to Hess's evil-ness.

Ace is Coming Part 2: I liked Ace talking about his last promo and the reactions to it. Based on this one, it seems like he’ll definitely be a heel. Looking forward to seeing him on the next Onslaught.

Foster vs Miller: Very good psychology in the early pages of the match – Foster trying to wrestle a submission match while Miller was trying to turn the match into a brawl and take advantage of the LMS stipulation. Some more great psychology with Foster working Miller’s knee and then locking in some knee-related submissions. Great job so far guys. I was actually kinda surprised to see Foster dominate the early portion as much as he did, but the way the story was presented made it great. Miller gaining control of the match with the chair shot was just PERFECT. Really fits in well with their rivalry. I called “thumbtacks” as soon as Miller pulled out the mysterious bag and I was right, haha. Some cool spots like the Samoan Drop on the tacks, the European Uppercut war, and the Spear through the barricade. The Spear is a great finisher for Miller. He’s a big guy so in that sense it works well for him.

I guess one criticism I have is that some paragraphs were too long and could have benefited from some spacing/spreading out. But I could say the same for a couple other matches on this card. Other than that, I was very impressed with the match. It really, really put over Foster as not only a badass that doesn’t quit, but a man of the people. Miller also looked great throughout the match. And the finish was superb. It almost had me thinking that the match was going to end in a double-countout. And I knew the finish! All around great job.

I don't see what I can really say about my match other than what Daz already said and what others are going to comment on. I think the finish makes both guys look good, and that's always nice. I was always a big fan of the "Tale of the Tape" things WWE does, and since it's so easy to create a table in Word, I just couldn't resist doing one of these. Might make it a regular thing for every PPV main event.

My overall thoughts on the PPV are, everyone hit all the right notes in their matches. All the characters shined and looked good. PCW's growing and this PPV shows it. Although from now on, I'll make it a point to really try to scale down on match and PPV lengths. PCW was always supposed to be smaller than WCSF, and this show was really WCSF-ish in terms of length, so we'll try to stay away from that.

Re: PCW Oblivion Pay-Per-View FULL SHOW

Ok, gonna pick this back up where I left off.

Ace - Ok, this is getting a bit meta for me, haha. It'll be easier for Ace to fit in once he's actually on the show, video promos are hard when you don't already have an established character. It'll be cool to see what he's like without him talking about other people already on the roster.

LMS - SUPLEX AND SUBMIT. Kind of cool to see them take a moment to get things started here. We had a couple other matches on the show get off to a hot start, so the brief look out to the crowd was a nice way to start with a big match atmosphere. I liked the little hints that Foster would be getting close to losing his cool, only to divert back to his calculated nature. Good stuff. Cattle mutilation?! Foster's becoming Daz-like in his hold arsenal. Miller going with the closed fist punches trying to bust Foster open? BRO IT'S A LAST MAN STANDING MATCH GRAB SOME KENDO STICKS N SHIT :P. You'd think that fans would learn by now that yelling taunts at heels in the stands never leads to anything good. He probably paid good money for that shitty beer, too... :(

What's the official doing giving "subtle nudges" to Foster telling him to release the hold? Foster's got no obligation to let up in this stipulation.

Interesting having Alex mention the lack of weapons so far and how that's favored Foster. Makes me think things are going to turn around once weapons come into play. And.. yep, there we go :lol chair to the head. And we have first blood. Miller's coming off really viciously here with all these chair shots. "THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED!" Aw yeah. Not sure that a rolling reverse elbow would result in a CRACK noise, but whatever haha.

Ooooooh fuck tacks, been a while since we've seen those in a sim match (or in a real match either...). glad that it was Miller who got to land on em, he needed to get roughed up a bit more :P. Miller has gone full on Mike Tyson with the biting here I see. Man, having Foster come back from 9 counts twice is building him up as a supreme badass. Makes Miller look really good too. And ANOTHER nine count, cool moment there with Foster being encouraged by the fan to get to his feet. Glad Nick went with that instead of the idea he pitched to me :P It's more realistic and is still a great moment. Action definitely picking up here as we get to what I can only imagine is near the end. Sweet spot with the sit down powerbomb. Modified argentine leg lock... that's the Brock Lock isn't it? SHANE EVANS SHOUTOUT! Crazy action know, the Kendo stick and the Michinoku driver through the table... again, not a fan of "This is awesome" chants but I guess that's just personal preference.

Ok, here's something that peeves me. For the first time we get a mention of Miller's mystery assailant. I didn't even notice it until they said it, but if this show ends without so much as an appearance from the assailant or any development on that front I'm going to be kind of annoyed as a reader/fan.

FCC FROM THE STAGE OOOOOO YEAH DIG IT. Sweet spot, commentary sold it awesomely, great way to end the match. I was just about to say that this was a really good match but it was missing a really memorable moment that makes it a great one, but I think that put it over the edge. Really great way to end it.

But no mystery assailant. I've always questioned the need for Miller to have a partner at all. We went from Miller apparently working for someone, to someone apparently working for Milller, and we've had all questions and no answers on that front and it's kind of frustrating to see that just get glossed over. Maybe we'll get answers on Onslaught but at this point it just feels like that was a ocpmletely unnecessary storyline. I don't want that to overshadow the match though, it was a lot of fun.

Holy fuck, I wrote a lot about that. I need a drink before I read the main event.

Main Even Awesome moment with the introductions, I always love when they do title match intros in the ring, makes it seem huge. "If you've witnessed a Daz title match in the past, you better be prepared to see this one go the distance" :lol this has to have been put in there on purpose. Cool way to start off, Kaiser keeping control and doing everything he can to keep Daz from dictating the terms of the match. This whole first section of the match really feels like the calm before the storm. Lots of hold trading, Daz trying to get the advantage but Kaiser continually pushing him back. Like Kaiser's little show of disrespect, turning Daz's strategies against him and going for the headslap. Little things like that add a lot to a match.

It's hard for me to make too many comments on a lot of the action because I feel like I'd be repeating myself a lot. I liked the "walk out" portion with Kaiser after getting shown up by Daz in the chain wrestling department. Classic heel stuff. Again, my only real criticism as with the tag match is just that I'd like to get more emotion from the announcers rather than just them calling the moves. It really adds to the match when you can get that in there.

Stomping a mudhole and walking it dry... heh. Not often you see the clean-cut Daz get reprimanded by refs! And man, he's even taking it further. Definitely a different side of him than we typically see. If I know my Daz, Kaiser's arm is not going to be feeling very good at the end of this match, heh. Really like the idea of Kaiser being taken to his limits in every sense. He's never faced someone quite like Daz before... nobody has thta type of extensive move set and in-ring intensity. Him spitting in Daz's face is a nice way to break Daz's concentration and bring things back into his wheelhouse. And when all else fails you hit him in the head with your boot. Nice contrast there, Daz gains control via grappling and athleticism, Kaiser gains control through viciousness. Commentary does a nice job keeping that theme going once they get to the outside, where the less conventional style definitely favors Kaiser.

Is it bad that I was really hoping to see Daz put through the table? haha. I don't know why, but a Daz in pain is the best kind of Daz. That takes me to the (i think?) back body drop to the floor... sweet. And I can envision Kaiser's reaction as Daz gets back into the ring after the ten count, and it is priceless. Kaiser's trash talk is great here as we're getting toward the end. "FUCK OFF ZEBRA!" "IS THIS HOW YOU WERE EXPECTING YOUR FINAL RUN TO TURN OUT?" Hah. And the bow and arrow hold there with the post, Daz kicking out... yet again we see a herculean effort from the British Rose.

Nice to see that arm come back into play with the failed Kaiser bomb. Oh fuck, a ref knock! Refs have had it pretty easy for the most part on this show. Great heel work with the ref down, but the third Yakuza kick is sweet. Did he actually lose a tooth?! I really hope this comes into play in future promos :lol. I'm glad the low blow didn't end the match... we still got quite a bit of good action afterward here. Lots of false finishes... small package, bicylcle knee, Dazaster driver... for the briefest of seconds I actually thought Daz was going to win! Daz showing a lot of fire at the end... man, he's going to be in a bad way after this match. Kickout of a Kaiserbomb AND a Dazaster Driver?! Daz is the new Cena :lol. And the YES chants have even overtaken PCW I see... oh fuck, great british cloverleaf and Daz is OUT. I thought for sure we were going to get to see Daz tap, that'd have been huge. Amazing finish, both guys come out of this looking amazing. Gotta wonder how Daz in particular is going to be coming out of this match, though. He went through a TON.

This match was really, really long. Too long, I'd say. But the match was still great, and the final seven or eight pages were fantastic. So while I think it could have been shortened for sure, I did enjoy it. It just took a long time to get through, haha.

So shit, it took me two and a half hours to sit here and read the final two matches... that's a little riduclous lol. They were really good, but I'm looking forward to getting some page limits in.

Really solid PPV. Some great matches. Probably give MOTN to Daz/Kaiser, but I truly enjoyed everything on the card. Well done to all.

TBC vs NRC, Ladder Match - Great decision to make this a Ladder Match, sure fire way to switch things up from the last two matches and an exciting way to kick-off the show. I don't have any issue with the content of chants although I question the choice to have 'This is Awesome' going before the match even begins. Brody's Sisuke Special was beautifully written and was the first moment in the match that made me pop. I didn't even know what a plancha was so that was a nice spot for the Comeau's to hit so soon after Catwalk's impressive aerial attack. The Flatforms to Carter's skull sounded brutal, really nice move and really fitting for the team. I commented on the awesomely Scott Pilgrim referenced Clash at Demonhead the other day, yet another awesome move. That's why I love Tornado DDT matches, the action never stops.

Corkscrew Moonsault again another badass move - really enjoy reading the high-flying moves (Recessionista is a great name). Both of these teams have really exciting movesets and I think that's the reason this feud has done so well, pop-up powerbomb being another example of that. The Red Ring of Death was a really cool moment in the match, kudos to you guys for putting that in, clever stuff. FPTM was insane and I'm gonna move on from this way of reviewing now because I'll be here all night if I decide to pick up on every nice move written in this one. Alright one more, back body drop from the ladder!! Damn I wish I'd known there was gonna be a table smash earlier in the night, might have made me re-think the one I wrote. Enjoyable ending to a thoroughly entertaining match. I'm really happy that Catwalk won the titles, I think they were the right choice and the dissension in the ranks story they've had going on in the past couple of months have been really great to watch. Now they're on the same page though I'd really like to see them go all out heel. We don't seem to have an actual heel team in PCW and the one ShaneO seems to have debuted doesn't look to be a bad guy team and Catwalk are the kings (or queens) of mean.

Good Luck, Mate - I've really enjoyed these little segments between Daz and Foster. It's not hard to tell that Daz has influenced me since my second stint in e-fedding which is the highest compliment I can give him. I think Daz is somewhat of a mentor to Foster which is particularly interesting when you take into account they're both 30+ veterans of the business. I'd love for these segments to be a trend on PPV's and a feud between the two somewhere down the line would be a lot of fun. Hopefully that happens before Daz' last run comes to an end.

Magnum vs Orion - Phillips jumping his opponent before the bell is another example of terrific characterization from him, he continues to show what a despicable man he is. These two characters have very similar in-ring styles and I'll echo what Kaiser said about how great it was to have two physical, flat-out bruisers going at it. Pointing out that Magnum is ambidextrous was a cool thing to include, I hadn't even considered something like that would factor into an e-fed character. The Belly-to-Back suplex from the top rope was badass, really great spot. "What happens next is on you, chief" - what an asshole. The ending was something I definitely didn't see coming and I'm not sure about having two TKO's on one card. It made Magnum look dominant and still kept Bishop looking strong.

Reap What You Sow - I'm not sure "last week said he was all but retired" makes sense but I may have just read that wrong. I anticipated a Buck attack and wasn't surprised to see him make an appearance on the show, I still think this feud has come really out of nowhere but it was nice to see him give Magnum his just desserts and still it's too early to make any judgment on this. Onslaught should be fun.

Zaid vs Valentino - Being honest I didn't even know Valentino was the face in this story haha, I figured Zaid was the cool heel doing bad guy, playful things to the Jersey Shore reality TV types so I was surprised to see chants for him so early on. I did though, love the decision to have Valentino show some self control and take Gia's advice on board. I didn't notice that there was only one cover attempt before the finish until I read the comments but yeah maybe include a couple more next time. Clever booking having Gia plant a kiss on Zaid without Valentino even knowing. It was the right decision to give Johnny V a much needed win and further the feud. I've said it a few times that this feud has a lot more mileage left and this was a brilliant way to continue that.

JJ and BJ - Interesting. Another seemingly quirky, laid back team. I'd have loved to have seen them debut as heels but it's early days yet.

Disciples vs Omegryphon - I don't know whether it was intentional or not but having Gryphon tell Omega that he wanted to start the match was good, it showcased the mentor/student relationship with the naive younger man itching to get at his enemies and that older, more experienced member of the team knowing when to step aside and let his protege handle business. I enjoyed reading Gryphon in the ring more so than I ever have before because I agree that he's been overshadowed by Omega thus far and his technical ability hasn't really been touched upon as of yet. I also pictured Omega as a big man, powerhouse type of athlete but after the bombshell that he's actually one of the smaller dudes has left me confused as to his style - I trust he's still a powerful, more physical wrestler as opposed to the more technical Richard?

I always prefer reading matches that have good commentary and I'm a believer that the commentary is the most overlooked aspect of a match so I really enjoyed some of the more subtle comments particularly Cage made throughout in relation to the Disciples "it's gonna take more than that, these men have God on their side" being an example of little things I always enjoy reading. The first hot-tag to Omega was well written and it was cool to see him all fired up and cleaning house. Hess' long-awaited entrance into the fray was fun to read initially but if I'm being totally honest I thought the cooler moment was when he was planted with a powerbomb from Gryphon - it was a great spot in the match and did a real nice job of showcasing his strength and as I've already touched on his technical skills his repertoire really shone in this match. Kudos to whomever came up with the bandages spot, cool moment and the #FIELDPLOW wraps things up.

I also carry the belief that the right team one, the 3 men shouldn't really be losing to the 2 but this match did a nice job of making both teams look strong, particularly Gryphon. Moving forward I think I'd like to see Knight and Barry be the next challengers for the tag titles. (Dale calls himself God's favourite wrestler...I'm pretty sure the Disciples would take exception at that) I still think there's mileage in a singles match between Hess and either Omega or Gryphon and I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens with these guys.

Ace is Coming II - See this was a weird one for me. You literally referenced some of the comments you got on your first promo and I know others said they dug that so that's cool - personally I wasn't too keen on that though. It almost felt like the character of Ace somehow managed to read the comments and took away some of the realism for me. Ace also said that nobody is going to question him which again relates back to the comment thing, it's just a personal preference thing so I wouldn't worry about it. I'm looking forward to seeing Ace compete though, should be fun.

Last Man Standing - Chuffed with the comments on the match thus far, I worked really hard on it and wanted it to do both the characters and the feud justice. We'd planned the match out in-depth beforehand and I'd like to think we got it right looking back. I didn't want it to be just a flat-out weapons fest which is why the action was kept in the ring for quite a long time before we finally introduced the violence aspect. Really pleased that we've not had comments that we might have overdone it which was something I was worried about.

One of the longer matches I've written but I enjoyed every second of it. I can't lie it felt sooo good finally getting to bust Miller open after weeks of being beaten down. Again I understand the comparisons to Daz in hindsight but the submission heavy approach Foster took to the match came from a bit of advice from Steve and I'd just watched Danielson/Aries from ROH Testing the Limit and used the psychology of that match as inspiration. I'd like to think the finale kept both men looking strong and I'm excited to see where both characters go next. Cheers for all the kind words.

Kaiser vs Daz - Definitely think the Tale of the Tape should be a permanent feature of title matches, makes things seem like a bigger deal as they should be (that golden PCW logo is shit-hot, too) Great psychology in the beginning with Kaiser retreating whenever he can, refusing to let Daz dictate the match and having the commentators say how he's in it for the long haul was a nice touch and goes back to what I said earlier about how little things on commentary really stand out to me. LOVED the slap to the back of Kaiser's head and Daz drawing his invisible line in the ring, daring Cavanah to cross - awesome moment so early on in the match and again commentary did a nice job of upholding Daz' mantra of respect by stating that he just doesn't respect Kaiser so all etiquette goes out of the window.

Textbook stuff having Kaiser find a way to slow things down whenever it looked like Daz was finally starting to build some momentum. The technical, mat-wrestling approach to the match was interesting in the beginning and provided numerous cool moments - enjoyed reading when the two engaged in a knuckle lock that led to Daz hitting a Northern Lights Suplex from seemingly nowhere. Continued in that trail of thought the quick pin reversal attempts were brilliantly placed in the match and made sure you knew that it was going to take a monumental effort from either man to gain the upper hand. Daz being reprimanded again played into how little respect he has for his opponent and little things like that are pivotal in getting the emotion to jump from the page.

The thing about Daz matches, particularly big Daz matches, that I've always enjoyed is how his philosophy pretty much remains the same even if his emotions towards his opponent differ. He's always looking to out-wrestle his man until he creates a chink in the armor and once he's find that chink he's going to concentrate on it and that's what we saw here when he began to focus on the arm. Looking back this is clearly the bigger match and so we should have broken the Spanish Announce Table and let you guys work with the main one :lol Nonetheless the joust for power on the table was brilliant drama and being honest I didn't expect to see Kaiser smiling after launching Daz from the table, that was the first time I'd seen shades of that 'depressed Cavanah' mentality who takes pleasure in what he's doing, we've had the Foster/Daz comparisons but I'd like to point out similarities between Kaiser and Miller, if you guys don't run that tag match in the near future you'll be missing a trick. Kaiser gaining control through his intensity and as Tim put it, viciousness, was the right thing to do in that stage of the match so props to the both of you on how you structured things.

Arguably my favourite moment of the night came when the referee released Daz' arm for the third time and he answered. You really sold this as a huge moment in the match and the action that followed was my favourite writing of the show with Daz somehow getting back into it when just minutes prior he'd looked down and out. I could really picture the fan favourite slowly but surely gaining momentum and the crowd going wild and it made for really enjoyable reading although in saying that Kaiser lifting up the ring skirt to stop Daz' head of steam in it's tracks was fucking cool - that whole sequence was my favourite of the night.

The finale brought us the most drama and excitement of the night which is perfection. From Daz still somehow hanging in there to the ref bump to the low blow to the dodging of the title blow to the awesome Yakuza Kick - once again just amazing drama guys. Followed up by the missed diving headbutt, the numerous finisher teases and the pendulum swinging back into Daz' court only for him to eat a devastating spinebuster and somehow kick out. Honestly the finale to this match should be the example given to new writers looking to sharpen their skills. LOVED that despite the intensity of the match at the time we were given a slight pause so the two could taunt and Kaiser could give a middle finger.

The kick-out from the Kaiser Bomb was fantastic stuff, I thought that was it for sure. Doubly so for the Dazaster Driver, brilliant drama. Daz passing out for the finish was great and with him bleeding and everything it's hard not to compare this with Bret/Austin. It kept him looking like a pure badass whilst also making Kaiser look fucking legit as champion picking up the win over a hall of famer after a classic. What can we do to top this now? Undoubtedly MOTN, congratulations guys.

Fucking great show from all involved, everyone involved with PCW should be damn proud. Can't wait for the next card and to see what we have next in store!

Re: PCW Oblivion Pay-Per-View FULL SHOW

Liked the video package to start the show. Gave us a glimpse of what has happened so far in PCW up to this point.

Tag Team Championship: Good idea to start with this match. I like having the title matches spread out. Plus, ladders matches are always exciting and help to set the tone for the rest of the show.

Good use of the ladders. Liked the spot where the ladder was used as a ramp to launch into a dropkick. Also liked how the ladders didn't seem to be overused in this match. Ladder helicopter spot showed Dale and Brody are still not completely on the same page, with Dale hitting Brody with the ladder. Also, the X-box achievement things are still really cool.

Back body drop off the ladder? Adrian Dale may be dead. OK, maybe he's not dead, but he didjust fall off the ladder again. The finish of this match was really fun. Great balance by Dean Brody to right the ladder after Carter fell off. Really fun match to read.

Magnum vs. Orion: Just noticed that neither one of these men have entrance songs. Just a random observation. Very hard hitting match, does a great job of showing the animosity between Bishop and Magnum. Revealing Phillips to be ambidextrous just adds another layer to this character. I think the TKO win shows Magnum is not all about winning, he's all about hurting his opponent. Phillips apparent upcoming feud with Buck should be a lot of fun to read.

Zaid vs. Valentino: Nice little interview/promo from Zaid before the match. I liked the extra attention to detail regarding Gia's emotional state. Showing that he can control his emotions adds another layer to the character of Valentino. The in-match commentary from Zaid really shows what kind of person he is.

Last Man Standing: Good idea for Foster to keep the match in the ring at the beginning, as he would seem to have the technical wrestling edge over Miller. Foster continually working on the leg of Miller is great strategy in a last man standing match.

Miller bit him? What kind of person does that? Foster repeatedly getting up at the count of 9 shows his toughness. The finish was pretty insane. FCC off the stage. For a minute, I thought we were looking at a double ten count.

Kaiser vs. Daz: I haven't had the chance to read this entire match, mostly because it's REALLY long, but the parts I have read are really good. I'll try to read the rest of it at some point and get some more comments on it.

Opening Segment – Nice opener, it was a really nice touch to have those photos interjected in the video. Also exciting to hear that PCW is going on the road. Hopefully we won’t have the same budget issues Impact has. LOL.

Rubber Match – Really good writing with this one. And the announcement of a ladder match was the perfect touch to cap this feud off.

Tag Ladder Match – Nice fast start and a good job of tying in previous matches with the Brothers getting revenge on NRC for previous attacks. Plus Melissa Chambers is just as awesome as ever. Double bodyslam by Carter Comeau was really cool. I really liked the fact that there was a whole bunch of wrestling before ladders really started to get involved. It’s always a nice touch. The Giant Swing/dropkick combination is an awesome maneuver and there are so many cool ladder spots in this match, it’s fantastic. And I just have to say that finish was the coolest thing to imagine happening, just seems so awesome in my mind, now whether it’s actually feasible? But that doesn’t matter here. Congrats on the victory to NRC.

Good Luck Mate – Good promo. Not a lot to it, but I like the realism it adds to have a few guys just being friendly and wishing each other well.

Phillips vs Bishop – First thing is first, putting these two matches back to back is brilliant booking. To go from the high flying fast paced action of the ladder match to the straight ahead smash mouth style of this one is great. The intensity doesn’t drop from one match to the next, but it’s fresher just in the style. I love reading matches like this with just two brutal brawlers that will do anything to each other. Interesting way to end the match with the essential knockout Phillips is an awesome brawler and I loved that top rope german suplex.

Reap What You Sow – Interesting foreshadowing here with Buck encountering Phillips. I liked this interaction a lot and a great way to end it with the Superkick.

Zaid – Good interview and Zaid’s personality continues to show through with getting rid of Hypeman (Which by the way, our interviewer’s name is really Hypeman? LOL). Bit of constructive criticism, try to really work on capitalization and punctuation. It’s jarring to have too many mistakes in grammar in a segment and it can deter from the message.

Zaid vs Valentino – Considering every match tonight has started with a fast assault, usually by the face it would have been nice to mix up the psychology of this match. Valentino wants to start fast and unleash his rage, but to me it would have made more sense to have Zaid sneak out of it to the ropes or out of the ring somehow. It would have built his heat and intensified what would follow in the match. I will say this about the match the action in it was really good and the ending was done well, just a little out of nowhere. This is close to be on the level of the best matches of the night, but it needs just a little bit more storytelling and expanding on what’s going on to take it the rest of the way.

JJ and BJ – Kind of random and I’m not sure what to think of this tag team right now, but I can tell that they could possibly have some fun with each other and be interesting moving forward.

Handicap Match – Just a small thing for the record, “In the Sweet By and By can’t blare anywhere. Just a little touch about verb usage that can help in story. I really enjoyed the psychology of this match. The storytelling and feel was great. Every time there was a tag and a different man entered the ring you could feel a distinct difference in the pacing and feel. This is a case of two factions with very well developed characters. Really good match and a great job of organizing the chaos.

Ace is Coming – Interesting promo, certainly shows him as a heel. I’ll be interested when he gets into a feud though.

I feel like this is a good place to point out that we’ve gone through 11 of the 13 pieces on the show and we are just barely halfway through the page count on the show. Last two matches certainly went all out.

Last Man Standing – I really like the story being told in this match, but on the other side of that I think this was a case of taking too long to get to the action heating up. Miller comes across as the perfect heel in this though. His interactions with Foster, interactions with the crowd it’s great. Once the action did get going it was really good. I mean good twists and lots of violence. Biting Foster was an interesting touch. Certainly crazy. You have to love Foster’s spirit throughout this match and the way it was portrayed was fantastic.

Main Event – The sense of the moment was perhaps the best part of this match. How important every little detail was really gave indication of it being a championship match and being worthy of it. You can tell just how carefully both wrestlers were choosing their actions and equally how carefully the writers chose the words to describe those actions. I liked the touch of Cavanah trying to walk out on the match, but Daz stopping him. Great back and forth to close out this match, Fantastic match.
