This is how it ends

This is how Brock Lesnar's title reign ended:

Right before the bell rings, Braun's music hits. He cuts a promo saying he knows the history of money in the bank and that he's not a coward, and wants to do things face to face. Therefore, he announces that he will wait and cash in his contract... right after the Brock/Roman match is over. Wut? But hey, they definitely found a way to get the crowd to stay interested in the match!

Brock is distracted by Braun standing outside. Roman, like the babyface/heel/whatever the fuck he is, capitalizes by hitting a series of Superman Punches/Spears that only keep Brock down for a 2 count. Brock eventually powers up DBZ style and starts coming back with the German Suplex rally.

A minute later, the match spills to the outside where Braun is. Brock takes him out with an F5 and some chair shots. He throws the Money in the Bank briefcase up the ramp. As soon as Brock slides back in the ring, Roman sneaks up and catches him with a single Spear. 1-2-3, new champ is crowned, and like a minute later the show fades to black with no mention of Braun and if he can cash in. Fucking brilliant.

So this is how Brock's unstoppable 1.5 year title reign ends, and you could argue that the build goes back even further with the ending of the Streak and the squashing of John Cena at Summerslam (but you probably shouldn't, unless you want to get really depressed). Yet at the same time it seems like nothing of value was lost. Except maybe some of Braun Strowman's credibility. Tune it to Raw tomorrow to see them play up Roman's win as a huge babyface moment.

Bad main event to pretty good show. NXT TakeOvers happening the night before have been good and bad. Good because you can tell some wrestlers step up their game to match the quality of Saturday's event, but bad because the main roster Sunday events aren't as impressive overall.

Read a report that said the fans were chatting 'You both suck!" to Lesnar and Reigns and the inclusion and subsequent involvement of Braun means it's not a clean and the major moment it should be for Reigns winning yet the WWE will do that on RAW.

They managed to get that chant in at the only slow moment of the matchup. The way it was booked gave the fans almost no chance to rip the match apart, which they certainly would have done otherwise. From Braun's announcement, to the hot start with the superman punches/spears, to Braun getting involved at ringside, and then Reigns winning immediately afterward. There was only like a fraction of Brock vs Roman content compared to Wrestlemania.

Given the booking of this match and how much effort they put into preventing the fans from shitting on it, I have to wonder once again why they even needed to be in this situation in the first place. What the fuck was the point of Brock being champ the last few months? It did nothing for Lesnar or the belt because he never showed up and when he did it was only to interact with Roman. The confrontation with Daniel Cormier could have been done without Brock being champ, because the Universal title was not mentioned at all. It did nothing for Roman AT BEST, because he failed to beat Brock at Wrestlemania. He then got a rematch for no reason whatsoever in Arabia that had a non-finish which made Roman whine for months about deserving another shot at Lesnar. Would have been fine if it had been leading to some sort of character arc for Roman, but as of now he's still the same babyface he was a year ago 2 years ago 3 years ago. But people are just happy that Brock is no longer the champ. They're just happy we survived this goddamn angle.

Whoah, so it's all over? Crazy. It just feels like the longer it stretched on the more meaningless it became. Like you said, nothing of value was lost.
