Jones v Lesnar would be all about the money but is there no credible challenger for Jones at light heavyweight? Maybe it's a fight he's wanting to win and then maybe call it a day with all the issues he's had over the years.
Jones has won all of his fights. He was DQ'd against Matt Hammill because he used 12-6 (vertical) elbows on a downed opponent, which is a bullshit rule. Athletic commissions basically saw videos of karate guys breaking concrete slabs with their elbows and suddenly deemed the vertical elbow to be illegal. You can hit your opponent on the floor with an elbow at any other angle, just not 12 - 6 elbows.
As for a credible challenger at light heavyweight, Jones has basically cleared out to division. Anthony Johnson was the most credible challenger at light heavyweight but he retired randomly a few months ago. Oezdemir looks like a great prospect but I think Jones would beat him comfortably. A rematch with Gustafsson would be interesting but Jones beats him again, probably.
Nobody in the UFC ever has fought the killers that Jones has. Not even Anderson Silva or GSP. He's the GOAT.
