^^ It's not really my genre of music, but I thought it was pretty good. Interesting melody and gives off a certain atmosphere ... for some reason I'm thinking it would probably work well as a piece of music used in a drama/procedural show.
^^Never heard of these guys before. Really like the beginning portion and the use of cello alongside the lyrics. Pretty decent vocals. They kind of remind me of a cross between Keane and Stars. 7.5 or 8.
4/10 - I didn't dislike the song I just found it a bit...rom-commy? I find cheesy lyrics such as "music is all we got" cringey. I suppose it'd be a decent song to play to your girlfriend when you're trying to be all soppy and romantic haha!
That's really not my type of music, but it wasn't bad. I'm having trouble trying to have an opinion on it either way. Technically it's quite tight. Some of the vocals are quite nice. I'd probably give it a 5/10. I could understand how some people would really like it, but unfortunately I'm not one of them.
This sounds like it should be on the John Lewis Christmas advert. Nice vocals, good lyrics and she's obviously very talented although I wouldn't really listen to this type of music. I'll give it a 6/10 because I can appreciate her talent and I enjoyed the video. Another 'play it to your girlfriend when trying to be romantic' vibe from that song!
I'll give that a 7/10 so we can remain friends. It's nice and poppy and fun. Reminds me of what's missing from pop music today most of the time. I docked it a few points for not being quite as catchy as it could have been, and for being a bit overworked, but I did enjoy the song quite a bit. It's no Elton John though.
I'll post something kind of poppy myself, though not by a pop band exactly. Something from Silverchair's surprisingly upbeat final album Young Modern, which might actually have been their best (with Neon Ballroom being the competition).
