If I was Danielson's parents I'd be rather concerned with how completely devoted he is to a raging turd of a man. I mean there's fandom and then there's Danielson being the equivalent of a Belieber to Kanye. What would you even label those?

I'm concerned at the fact that you have irrational hatred for a person that encourages positivity and pushing a culture forward.

You're honestly a cunt for trying to bring my parents into this, what are you 12 years old? You constantly personally attack me for no reason when I have civilized debates but you always turn it into something personal. Why do you hate me so much? Life is so much better when you aren't pessimistic and stay positive.

Learn to have a debate like a grown man or just learn to shut up.

I do like Kanye's music and I think he is a smart guy sometimes but he's so ignorant it hurts.

He says the Grammy's don't recognize artistry, well they gave the award to an artist who did everything on his album by himself. Beck wrote and composed every song on his album. He plays numerous instruments. He doesn't use auto tune on every song he sings. Beyonce needed three writers to help write the song "Single Ladies".

Saying the Grammy's only recognize what's popular may be the stupidest thing I've heard about Beck winning. Most of the people watching didn't even know who Beck was before last night. Beyonce is probably the most well known artist of this generation, I don't think one person hasn't at least heard of her in some way.

Just because Beck didn't mind the interruption doesn't mean it wasn't childish of Kanye to do so. I don't know what Kanye is really thinking though. He's so contradictory. He sings a song to his dead mother about how he loves her and how he's going to tell North all about her, and he acts like a twat for the whole world to see not even 2 hours later. I don't understand him.

Kanye can complain about how the music industry is slavery and all that jazz but it doesn't stop him from making money. Why doesn't he donate all his money to the slaves of the industry so they can live a decent life. Why does he need to wear outlandish clothing, drive incredibly expensive cars and design plain white shirts that cost $120. The dude sold his soul, no doubt. This is also a guy who promised that everyone could be able to afford a pair of his new Yeezy's and now the suggested retail is $350. :lol All the dumb ass kids singing along to "New Slaves" must feel real smart now.

Playing numerous instruments doesn't really validate you as a great artist. Katy Perry plays more than two instruments but does that mean she's better than Jay-Z or Beyonce? No.

Also every artist uses auto tune/pitch correction in their songs. EVERY artist. I've worked with music engineers who've had experience inside the industry and they can validate that claim.

By the way, the award was for BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR, not "who can play the most instruments", not "who wrote the best original album of the year", it's BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR. Elvis didn't write most of his songs yet he is hailed as the King of Rock n' Roll, why?

Beyonce in her own right is a talented singer, arguably the best music performer today, and she shot beautiful visuals for every song on the album. She's also an incredible dancer as well. She also has done a lot for the movement of feminism with her music as well. She's an incredible talent and influential role model.

Saying the Grammy's only recognize what's popular may be the stupidest thing I've heard about Beck winning. Most of the people watching didn't even know who Beck was before last night. Beyonce is probably the most well known artist of this generation, I don't think one person hasn't at least heard of her in some way.

The Grammys in general are a popularity contest or hold an agenda on certain artist. Like I stated before, they didn't want to award Beyonce album of the year despite having the same acclaim and record sales as Daft Punk's album last year, which won album of the year. The voting committee is inconsistent and has always been unfair to urban artist most of the time.

Example A:

Image

Example B: Eminem winning last night despite releasing one of the worst hip hop albums of 2014. Another example, Iggy Azela, a manufactured pop star being nominated multiple times for hip hop was a spit in the face to the entire genre.

So yes, the Grammys do push commercialism and refuse to acknowledge the real talented artist for the mainstream audience to see.

By the way, Beyonce's album was more critically acclaimed than Beck's album.

Image

Just because Beck didn't mind the interruption doesn't mean it wasn't childish of Kanye to do so. I don't know what Kanye is really thinking though. He's so contradictory. He sings a song to his dead mother about how he loves her and how he's going to tell North all about her, and he acts like a twat for the whole world to see not even 2 hours later. I don't understand him.

Beck isn't delusional and recognized where Kanye was coming from and agreed with him. Kanye's not a twat at all, he is just painted that way for the media and people eat it alive. It's so funny because there's hundreds of articles by the Rolling Stone, Washington Post, etc that point out everything Kanye said in his speech last night yet when he speaks out on it, the whole world gets angry. That right there is hypocrisy and contradiction.

Why doesn't he donate all his money to the slaves of the industry so they can live a decent life.

Who exactly are the "slaves of the industry". Using this same logic, Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Vince McMahon, and all the rich millionaires in the world should donate all their money to their employees who make less than them because it's only right?

Why does he need to wear outlandish clothing, drive incredibly expensive cars and design plain white shirts that cost $120.

Outlandish clothing? Most of his clothes are his own merchandise which you can buy when you attend his concert. Also, the APC 120$ shirt you're talking about was not priced by him, it was priced by the fashion company. He doesn't have the power to control decisions like that.

He grew up with no money in his pocket so why is it wrong for him to drive expensive cars? This whole portion of your argument drifts off topic and doesn't really have to do with the Grammys being commercialized and not recognizing true artistry.

The dude sold his soul, no doubt. This is also a guy who promised that everyone could be able to afford a pair of his new Yeezy's and now the suggested retail is $350. :lol All the dumb ass kids singing along to "New Slaves" must feel real smart now.

I don't see how a guy who offers a breath of fresh air in hip hop and someone who pushes the culture forward is "selling his soul", lol. Go listen to your radio and listen to most of the garbage that gets constantly played. Then go listen to "Only One" by Kanye West and see how that song completely contrasts the current music that gets played today. If Kanye was a sell out, he would make formulaic music rapping about the same content over and over again.

And once again, he doesn't control the prices of his clothing. He simply designs them. That's like saying Daniel Bryan doesn't care about his fans because he sells shirts that are too expensive for kids to buy.

Everything you say is so obviously biased in one direction, so much so that it is nearly impossible to respond.

What I will say is that you cannot actually think Kanye isn't ignorant with his words a majority of the time. He's saying that the guy that won best album of the year knows he doesn't deserve to win. Who is Kanye to say that, is what I mean. He isn't God. He isn't the Academy. People win awards and people lose awards. To make a scene like that is disrespectful to someone like Beck who doesn't deserve it. He deserves the spotlight since he won and made a great album. This is like the Colts general manager crying over deflated balls just because his team didn't win, making an excuse that the Academy has a vendetta against Beyonce for not releasing the album the exact way they wanted to. Illuminati, man.

And about the designing of expensive clothes and shoes - I meant that if he really truly wanted people to afford them like he promised, he would refuse to slap his name on them until the price was lowered. But it is making him millions of dollars so it'd be dumb for him to do so. I also have nothing against him buying things and cars and whatnot. But to complain that the music business is slavery and people have no money, and then go waste his own on material items is a bit hypocritical. And actually, Bill Gates has given $30.2 billion dollars to charities throughout his lifetime.

I understand you love Kanye and Beyonce and that's your right to do so. I just think the "portrayal by the media" of Kanye being a twat isn't all fictional and is the point I'm trying to make. Is he a genuine jackass with no redeeming qualities? Of course not. But you can't say he doesn't bring it upon himself by acting childish.

Yeah, her dancing sounded great on that album. :facepalm

You yourself said that it's the album itself that matters. There's no point in just listing out everything that Beyonce is good at. When it comes to making music, she's not going to score as many points as Beck if you were to list out all the things both are good at. She's still a bigger star than him, and some might think she releases better music than him. But nobody can reasonably claim that Beck isn't talented or that his win was based solely on popularity.

As for whether or not those voting were biased towards Beck or against Beyonce, that's possibly the case. That stuff happens with every award ceremony. The Oscars have their favourites too, but you don't see actors interrupting the speeches of the winners because ... Kanye West isn't an actor.

Lets stop pretending that there's an objective answer to which is the best album also. Music is incredibly subjective. You can objectively say that Beck is the better musician or Beyonce is the bigger star, but there is no definitive answer for what album is better. Which is part of what makes Kanye's response so ridiculous.

At the end of the day, interrupting someone's speech is a dick move. It's their moment and you're putting all the attention on yourself. That's horrible. Even if it's done as a joke, you're still getting yourself over at someone else's expense and as wrestling fans we should all be sensitive to that. :P

Wait, wait, wait...

EMINEM WON BEST RAP ALBUM?

That has to be a joke. I like Em but Because the Internet by Childish Gambino was without a doubt better than The Marshall Mathers LP 2.

I won't comment on Beck/Beyonce because I don't know who Beck is and don't listen to him, but Em should not have won over Gambino.

Exactly my point. I understand music is subjective but clearly there's some music that' has more impact and sounds much better.

All I know is after reading this thread, I'm going to make every thread in this place somehow about Kanye. Every thread will be at least 3 pages long.

"If Kanye was a TV character, which one would he be?"

"Who should play Kanye West in the film adaptation of his life?"

"Would a first person shooter starring Kanye West be Game of the Year?"

"Would Kanye West be a better choice for Mania main event than Roman Reigns?"

He'd be the new neighbor on the Simpsons.

Kanye West of course, no one else could "capture his essence".

Is he doing the shooting or being shot? It would change the game's sellability.

It'd be like Floyd Mayweather (and Roman Reigns) they bring him in as a face only to realize there isn't a person in America that can stand him and have to turn him heel.

If I was Beck I wouldn't have been so classy in my response to Kanye's idiotic comments. I mean, who the hell comes out after an awards show and says another nominee should have won and that the winner should give their award away? He has the biggest ego I have ever seen. This is a grown man and my 12 year-old cousin acts more mature than he does.
