Mobile Site

Would this be difficult to implement? Like an m.pubtalkforum.com for use on smart phones? Might it even be in the works already?

There's an app called Tapatalk that some forums use for easier browsing on smartphones. I haven't actually downloaded it yet but I might give it a look and see if it'd be something worth exploring.

It would not be easy to implement at all, but I can look into the possibilities of it. 8) It's hard for me to judge because on my Windows Phone 8 (Lumia 920) it looks perfect.

It would require a script to check to see if you're browsing using a mobile phone. Only downside is that some people who don't use mobile but also don't upgrade their PC would get transferred to the mobile site, which would most likely look worse on a non-mobile client.

Yeah, the site is unusable on my phone unfortunately, but then I'm not using a smart phone anyway, so I'm not sure that the changes would help. But I do know that WWE-Club along with the immediate replacement site worked perfectly on the mobile phone.

I agree on the occassions that I''ve tried to view the site on my phone the left third of the page is basically permanently hidden. So I can't read any of the posts essentially.

I don't have an issue on my android with chrome or ie except the amount of content loading and everything iit REALLY small so a lot of zooming and miss pressed links occurs.
I do like the idea of a mobile version but not for the 85 people we have currently. If we had a couple hundred or more it would be worth the time but for right now I think we need to focus on making this place grow.
As for the time when a mobile site is in the works I got one thing to say - people with new technology and smart phones should trump those still running windows 2000 or any other dinosaurs. Just sayin

That's odd then. I have a 5S and it's all wibbly. Maybe it's the change in screen size.

Yeah the site works perfectly for me on mobile too, so unfortunately I don't have anything to gauge what it might look like for other people.

I know very little about web design and absolutely zilch about mobile design, so I'm going to completely defer to Locke on this one :lol

I mean, if it's something that can't be done, I understand and the site isn't broken by any means on my phone. I was just wondering.

For the record, Tapatalk isn't that great. I used it for an old gaming forum I was on and it's a stripped down version of the forums. Plus I think it costs extra money for you guys to implement its support, so don't do that on my account.

Depending on your phone, you might have the option in your phone's browser settings to choose between "Mobile Layout" and "Desktop Layout." Unchecking "Mobile Layout" while viewing this site might fix a lot of guff.

I meant rep, apologies. I visit another site where you can also give posts a thumbs up, making it a 'recommended post'. But yeah, it won't let me do that here on mobile for some reason :(
