When is it "christmas season" to you?

When do you find it appropriate to put up Christmas decorations, listen to Christmas music, etc?

For us in the States, Thanksgiving is a pretty easy dividing line, so I start listening to Christmas music/decorating usually the day after. Especially with my parents, we get the whole family together all at once on the day after to put up their tree.

I usually go with December 1st as a good date. I have a hard time feeling it before the calendar turns.

It depends, the sooner I see shit in the stores the later I get in the spirit.

For me I think it the 4 Sundays leading up to Christmas just as the Catholic Church does it with advent so technically this up and coming Sunday. That why my family normally puts up the Christmas decorations around the house however with our Christmas lights on the house we normally put them up in November when the weather is still nice but don't turn them on much later

I don't celebrate it but for me it's when the markets come out and town centre is a tad more packed - oh and when the Xmas lights go up. It's a good period of the year, more so for me knowing I'll have some days off and the football fixtures to enjoy!

For me it's around Dec. 15th or so. After Christmas I still feel like it's a special time until around Jan. 2nd. Maybe that's me but it's pretty much how I've always felt lol.

Black Friday for me lol, we usually decorate then and I get into the spirit at that time

December 1st is the appropriate time to start getting in the festive spirit. Anyone who puts up decorations before then deserves coal in their stocking. I actually love Christmas, but when decorations start going up on November 1st, it just makes Christmas feel less special.

The holiday season really ends on the Monday after New Years Day. That's when everyone is back to work usually and things start getting back to normal.

To me it starts after Thanksgiving is over. One thing at a time. This period after thanksgiving is also when I basically buy the gifts.
