What's the best thing you've won in a competition?

Postby Camstud » Jun 11, '14, 1:01 am

I entered some random competition on Facebook yesterday just because it took literally a second. I conpletely forgot about it and it turns out I've actually won a TNA goody bag with various merch including signed posters and such (they said that it includes stuff from people no longer on the roster too so fingers crossed for Sting and Styles)

Anyway, I never win competitions so that's probably the coolest thing I've ever won, even if it's not much haha. My girlfriend once won a bottle of Scotch and gave it to me... I suppose I'll claim that too on a technicality!

Anyone here won some good stuff?

Man I always think you can't get more weird and then you say something else :lol

The image of Viazon and his equally odd mates all sat outside the supermarket eating chicken together in the car is too much :lol

Are we talking about actual competition or like a contest/giveaway?

Competition wise, I have numerous speech and debate trophies that I won throughout my high school career. My favourite being two plaques, signifying that I went to nationals my senior year.

Giveaway would be two free tickets to see Foo Fighters with Cage the Elephant. Awesome show. The fact that I got to see Dave Grohl play drums with Cage the Elephant made it even better.

Yeah I meant like a giveaway. Answer a question sorta thing.

But congrats they're great prizes, I'd love to see Grohl live.

I'm not sure if I've ever gotten anything in a giveaway before. But I've won competitions for things. The best I can think of off the top of my head is when a music album I helped to make won a regional secondary school competition for model businesses and there was a €500 cash prize. A lot of money for a 16/17 year old.

I wrote an introduction for the BBC for the FA Cup final in 2002 for their Student Reporters thing on the website.

They were supposed to send me a signed MOTD football. They didn't.

So I chased up and - pretended - to voice my unhappiness and then sorta suggested some PS2 games in the post would be nice. They did.

I think I got Tiger Woods 2002 golf game and something else.

SSD from a raffle at Penny Arcade Expo. They were new and expensive at the time.

I also once won a cake during a roulette for halloween when I was like, 6 years old.
