Flapjacks or Crepes

Postby HFX » May 23, '14, 8:06 pm

Now some members of this board seem to think flapjacks are an abomination and that crepes are the way to go. Well I think they are wrong and that good ole thick and fluffy pancakes are the way to go. So what say you club? Side with the hearty, fluffy, filling, delicious flapjack or side with the wannabe tortilla that is the crepe.

I'd never heard the term flapjacks refer to a pancake before, I've always used Pancake and Crepe respectively. This is what I think of when I hear flapjack:

So I vote for flapjack I guess, the concept, not the name. :lol

I like flapjacks for breakfast and crepes for dessert, so it boils down to when I'm eating. Both are great.

SlightlyJames, I agree with your definition of Flapjacks. That's what I think of too. I think the term just means different things in different corners of the world. I don't really like the UK Flapjacks but maybe the American ones are great?

Flapjacks and pancakes are interchangeable here in the states. I would refer to what The Rock has in the picture as pancakes, but a lot of people from the south/other more rural areas refer to them as flapjacks.
