Now I have never been particularly great at picking up girls. I'm far from smooth or whatever you wanna call it. In fact, I am quite awkward when it comes down to it. But I did this today and I'm quite proud of it.

So there is this girl at work. We get along really well and talk every day. Yesterday, she wrote down a couple of songs on a piece of paper she wanted to recommend to me. I told her that today, I would do the same for her. I jotted down a few songs she might like and told her to give them a listen. Also on the piece of paper, I jotted down my number with a little message saying, "let me know what you think." I also added a little smiley face for good measure.

Anyway, she finishes work at 6, while I am stuck on the late shift and don't finish until 10. Low and behold, I finish my shift, take my phone out of my work locker and I have a text from her letting me know what she thinks of one of the songs. Result!

The trick is physical contact I found. Body flirting, shoulder rubs, or what worked most in my case is I am a combination of outdoors and night owl so some nighttime snuggling (walk up behind and put arms around her but not a hug, more like trying to keep her warm, or if she is sitting on a bench or ledge of some sorts get behind her and do the same thing). I would say 3 out of 5 times this gained some sort of affection from the girls like a head on the shoulder or her holding my arms. It sounds meaningless but there are little things that show you are not being aggressive in the chase but you don't want to just be a friend.

Well, normally it's not okay for most people, but since you're a ninja AND legit AZN, you start off by hiding in bushes. And you poke your head out every now and then and hop to the next bush. I do my best work by being the girl's friend for a while first (lets say several years), which gives me a perfectly innocent reason to have her number. Then by the time I'm ready to make my move - BAM - it's already taken care of.

To get back on topic. I never had a girl out of nowhere end up with her number. Most of my experiences when I grew up started as a friend and worked from there. That how both my ex girlfriends started both as friends and then I asked if they wanted to be my girlfriend> (Both at different times of course)

I JUST had one of these the other night. Celebrating my 22nd on Saturday. Up at the bar and she walks up. I buy her a drink, get her number, and then she joins my group of friends for the rest of the night.
