Isn't what everyone is doing in this thread, technically being a dick? Locke may have taken the argument too seriously but he helped build the site you're on and a site you don't have to pay to visit (Locke and Tim are doing a much better job than Bryan). I feel like making fun of him, even if he did leave, is pretty childish.

You are absolutely right. I am leaning heavy to the idea he left because of a lot more than one heated thread.

People are just trying to make the best out of a bad situation. People could be downright rude about the way that Locke went out, but instead are choosing to crack some jokes instead of turning it into an even more big deal.

And there's more to this than meets the eye.

Cracking jokes isn't making the best out of the situation. The situation is that he left because he felt disrespected. Disrespecting him even further isn't going to solve anything or make anything better. There's no need for any more negative comments in this thread, honestly. I would like to see him come back but it's clear the majority doesn't want him, which is a bit disappointing.

He is a good poster. Most of us want him back. I want him back. I just also want him to calm down. Toke up, grab a gin and tonic, pop some Vicodin, whatever it takes to make you happy do it. Just let it go. Butch up cowboy.

Brett is right about this; this is a situation that has been brewing for quite some time, and it would take far more effort than I feel like exerting to give the full back story. Needless to say, I'm not overly surprised that this happened, but I do not think anyone here is to blame, the way westcoast seems to be suggesting. There's a lot that has been going on behind the scenes that we have kept from causing drama on the main forum.

Regardless, I wish things hadn't happened this way, and that Locke had stuck around. But he didn't, and he chose not to give his side of the story here.

In any case, I think sks is also right. No point in keeping this thread alive just to toss in cheap shots at the guy. Hopefully he will relax and come back soon, and if and when that happens, I expect everyone to be cool and welcome him back into the fold.
