Pleased with this choice. Coldplay put on a great live show, they have the perfect kind of energy for this sort of thing, have plenty of good arena rock songs to choose from. People will bitch because hating on Coldplay is the cool thing to do but they're one of the biggest bands in the world for a reason. Fun, catchy and legitimately interesting/good music.

I am just not a fan of coldplay, but I haven't enjoyed a superbowl halftime show in years so it may not be my thing. I hope it is fun for everyone else though.

I enjoy some Coldplay music from time to time so I'm not hating on them from that perspective. What I will say is when I think of bands whose music gets me hyped and excited to watch guys bash each others heads in on the football field I think of about 1,000 bands before I get to Coldplay.
