49ers open to trading Vernon Davis

Not sure who'd take a flier on him at this point given how old and unproductive he is, but someone desperate for receiving help might hope all he needs is a little change of scenery.

Lots of Packer fans want him given our TE situation but I definitely don't see that ever happening.

I would give up, at best, a conditional 7th for him.

His fall from grace is crazy though. Usually good to great tight ends remain productive even as they age (Witten and Gates for example). Maybe it is Kaepernick but Davis has been a complete non-factor the last two years. Some of that is due to injuries but still, only 245 yards in 14 games in 2014? That is sad. Maybe it shows how reliant he was on his athleticism.

Wouldn't even touch him with a 10 foot pole. Vernon Davis was fun to watch in his prime but he is clearly washed at this point of his career.

I'd rather play Big Play Gare! (Gary Barnidge) than Vernon Davis at this point. Although, if I were a team with an elite quarterback and an opening at tight end, I might consider a low risk move (7th rounder) to see if Davis is more productive with a QB not named Kaep.
