Re: Report: Panthers won't bring back Greg Hardy

Postby Messiah » Feb 08, '15, 2:27 pm

Hardy will go to trial Monday to face misdemeanor domestic violence charges. If found guilty, he'll be slapped with a league-imposed six-game ban.

How can anyone support this?

The NFL is so ass-backwards. Even Adrian Peterson wouldn't undergo such a severe punishment merely because his case was handled faster. Hell, far worse than Ray Rice's punishment. Hardy, hypothetically, would be a 1st time offender who will have been forced to sit out 21 regular season games plus 2 playoff games. That is a far more severe punishment than any sports league, from NBA, NHL, MLB, FIFA, has ever dished out to a player over a misdemeanor (which is what this is). I mean yea if he is guilty, I won't feel particularly bad for him, but the NFL handled this like a bunch of buffoons only because of the whining from the uncaring media.

Just fine him 6 game checks in 2015 and be done with it.

^ A lot of that is because the North Carolina court system is really shitty.

But yeah, another six game suspension on top of what he's already served would be really rough. Whoever picks him up is going to get a solid player with a chip on his shoulder whenever he's let back into the league.

@The Legend, I love you dude, but see I told you. This is why you shouldn't take the "guilty until proven innocent" approach. If I recall, you said, "Greg Hardy is 100% guilty" despite the fact there was plenty of reason to believe otherwise. And now look what happened. This girl (who was coked up that night) couldn't even show up to her own fucking case.

@DanielsonTHAGOAT, change the thread title to establish how much of a joke the NFL is.

But I guess this is what happens when the media cries because OMGOSH THERE IS A VIDEO OF A GUY PUNCHING A GIRL, as if it is a better to beat the shit out of a woman if it isn't on camera. The NFL is a joke. This is why the commissioner's list was the dumbest fucking idea in sports history. Greg Hardy just was forced to miss 15 regular season games and 2 postseason games for a CASE THAT WAS THROWN OUT. The NFL is a fucking joke. But yet Ray MFin Rice and Adrian Peterson, who were found guilty, didn't have a punishment as severe. Peterson didn't miss out on 2 postseason games and Rice was reinstated.

But who was screwed the most? Carolina Panthers. We had to pay $13m to a player who was wrongfully taken away from us and now it looks like he won't be coming back. Thanks NFL. Thanks a lot. Maybe next time you won't overreact to the media.

And the funniest thing is nobody is going to apologize to Hardy for it. Nobody is going to apologize to the Panthers. They will just go along with their business because that is what happens because they don't have to face any consequences to what they say, wrong or right, in the media.

And yea, I'm pretty ticked off because this was the worst scenario that could happen. Just really, fuck you NFL. Fuck you media.

League spokesman Greg Aiello said in an email Monday to The Associated Press that Hardy remains on the commissioner's exempt list.

"His status remains unchanged until we fully review the matter," Aiello said in the email.

LMAO what? What is there to review?

Yeah this situation looks really bad on the NFL. I really don't understand how they get away with making rules up on the fly because it's unfair to sports organizations and players (Panthers and Greg Hardy in this particular case).

I hope the NFLPA addresses the flawed system of the NFL and hopefully the media holds the NFL to some sort of accountability for bullshit like this.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12372 ... 2014-death

Williams told Charlotte's WBTV, in an exclusive interview that aired Monday night announcing he would be released, that defensive end Greg Hardy was the only member of the organization to attend his mother's funeral in Arkansas after she died of breast cancer.

The funeral was on May 24, 11 days after Hardy was arrested on domestic violence charges in Charlotte. Hardy recently had the charges dropped.

"One player came,'' Williams told WBTV. "And there is nothing that he can say or do in my eyes that is bad. ... Greg Hardy. All the players around the league, all the players in the locker room, they texted and called. But Greg Hardy showed up.''

Greg Hardy is <3. Whichever team gets him is getting a great player, a funny personality, and an even better teammate.

Still on the commissioner's list with no end in sight, by the way.
