Aaron Rodgers is MVP

Postby Everlong » Jan 02, '17, 9:38 am

40 TD to 7 INT. Delivered on the guarantee to run the table (and is in prime position to continue to do so in the playoffs).

I understand Matt Ryan is sort of the default option right now, but Rodgers has the story and is far more interesting of a personality, which is big to the media types picking these awards. I mean honestly, would there be a more boring MVP in history than Matt Ryan?

Dude is the best player in the game and has showed it repeatedly over the last couple months. He's the MVP.

Tom Brady. Best TD-Int ratio in history. His team has the best record in football. Rodgers would be a close 2nd, Zeke would be #3.

Tom Brady should be ineligible for being suspended for a quarter of the year, not to mention his team went 3-1 without him in that span.

Brady is out because of the suspension, nobody has ever won MVP after missing four games.

Zeke Elliott would be my second and is the greatest Rookie of the Year of all time, but as a rookie will likely be discounted.

Rodgers is clearly the post Thanksgiving MVP, but you can't just look at those six games and ignore the first 10 games when he was a big part of them going 4-6 to start the year. In fact @Everlong it was you that said the following:

Bottom 10 might actually be giving (Rodgers) too much credit the way he's been playing. I have absolutely no idea what's happened to him. He's completely incapable of hitting even wide open receivers now. He has terrible decision making. He's holding on to the ball even longer than ever before. He's absolute garbage, and he refuses to take accountability for it.

Fuck this season.

Matt Ryan is the only guy that has been great from Week 1 to Week 17. He should be a runaway candidate at this point, the injury to Carr took his only legit competitor out too. Actually, considering it was only one game I'd give Carr some serious consideration.

How was he better than Eric Dickerson?

I wouldn't say he was better than Moss either. Zeke is great but clearly benefited a lot from the OL. Other than team success, he definitely wasn't better than David Johnson or Le'Veon Bell.
