Daniels was a fourth-round pick in 2006 and has played the entirety of his career with the Texans, making the Pro Bowl in 2008 and 2012. He played just five games last season, totaling 24 catches for 252 yards and three touchdowns.

Not only will they be losing TJ Ward, but instead of replacing him with Jairus Byrd - which made all of the sense in the world - they are going to replace him with an over-the-hill safety that the NFL is trying to legislate out of the NFL in Donte Whitner.

Whitner is only 1 year older than Ward.

Also Suh is being a bitch about his contract extension stuff. Need to resign him to open up cap space. Personally I would trade him for a top 5 pick. Dude is a major headache.
I know its a pipe dream, but I could see a team in the back half of the first round trade for him as a one year rental to try and make a Superbowl. If we renegotiate his contract he will be the highest paid player at his position and the Lions will have major money invested in 3 players.Everlong wrote:DBSoT wrote:Lions resign Joique Bell to 3 year $9 million Contract. $2 million cap hit this year. $1 million cap hit after that. Nobody's going to trade a top 5 pick for Suh. The Lions would have to throw in their first or second rounder as well most likely.

Yeah, but he has a long injury history and is also on the NFL's headhunting shit list. Safety position in the NFL today needs guys that intercept passes, not hit people.

So wait 7 million a year was too much for a 30 yo DQ52 who was a leader in the locker room, but 6 mil for an even older and more over rated Karlos Dansby is a good move?
