Fabianski set to leave Arsenal and sign for Swansea.

Good move for him. He is a decent keeper but always fell short behind Szczsney in the pecking order. He may not have been first choice for Arsenal but I always felt he could be a first choice keeper to a smaller team. No doubt he will be the first choice keeper for Swansea. He deserves it.

The dissection of Saints has well and truly begun.

- Pochettino leaves for Spurs
- Wanyama reportedly wants to follow him there
- Rickie Lambert is reportedly on the verge of signing for Liverpool (not sure why they'd want him though)
- Luke Shaw was seen househunting in Cheshire, reportedly ahead of a move to United
- Everyone knows Liverpool are chasing Lallana and will most likely get him

And now Steve McLaren is interested in becoming their manager. Rough times for Saints.

Why the fuck would Luka Shaw wanna go to United? Surely a move to a champions league side would be more appealing. Not to mention that Evra is staying. Also, I seriously doubt Lambert would get many starts at Liverpool, what with Suarez and Sturridge there.

££££££££ and trophies.

Also Lambert's slowing down but still a decent finisher, would be a good backup striker at Liverpool.

Yeah bookies have suspended betting on Lambert to Liverpool which I can't understand for the life of me. Why do we need Lambert? No point keeping a player like that on the bench. Work on Lallana, Brendan!

9 million as well, lol. I'd pay half of that for him, nothing more.

Dalglish must be back in charge. 9 million for a 32 year old striker who won't play is ludicrous. Work on signing Lallana ffs.

Liverpool signing Rickie Lambert for £8m :facepalm

He's not a Brendan Rodgers type player, even for back up. I'd rather have Fabio Borini ahead of him in the line-up.

Plus, they're spending close to £25m on Lallana who despite a fantastic first season, may not end up a major success for his first season with the amount of money he'll have been signed for.

Some gems from Saints fans on Twitter tonight:

"If Lambert left i would lose a lot of respect for him"

"We can use the money for Lukaku"

"Lambert should support us now and not Liverpool"

"he's played at anfield, he shud be happy with that"

"SOUTHAMPTON FC ARE NOT A SELLING CLUB!!!"

As I've said before - the most deluded fans in the league.

I'm currently arguing with a Saints fan who says he's lost respect for Lambert and that Lambert is fickle.

I called him an embarrassment, and said without Lambert's goals they'd be in League One. They should be thanking Lambert, not trashing him.

He is 32 years old, supports Liverpool and probably sees this as his last chance of playing champions league football and potentially challenging for the premier league. I understand his viewpoint completely. However, I would find it hysterical if Liverpool spent close to ten million on him. They could use that money to spend on someone who holds much more long term value to them than Lambert. But as a Untied fan, I am not gonna complain :lol

The new and improved 'Liverpool way' is spending ridiculous amounts of money on average players that won't crack the first team unless the manager feels pressure to play him after paying so much (ala, Moyes with Fellaini - Dalglish with Carroll, Adam, Downing etc...) I'll be fuming if this deal goes through, particularly at the price being reported.

I've heard it's 4 million up front with a potential 5 more in add ons.

Well, he's won the FA Cup. He's got the "transfer kitty" - now he has to spend. Namely on a striker, not Fabregas as has been rumoured of late.

They also think they can replace Lallana with Fabregas.
