It was a terrible performance, littered with mistakes. Defensively we were atrocious. Our passing in the midfield made Darren Fletcher's performance on Sunday look like Cesc Fabregas or Anders Iniesta at their best. Fair enough we have injuries and but we still had some players in there that have won titles with Man Utd, and we certainly should not be losing 4-0. Only positive was James Wilson coming on, he got himself in decent positions and looked like posing a threat. Hopefully he can bring his form in the reserves last season for us into the senior team, though the fact that we will not play a non premier league match till January now may mean his appearences will be limited!

You can accept the usual excuses for a League Cup exit but nothing can justify that ineptitude of a performance.

The senior players looked like playing today was the last thing they wanted to do and that seemed to transmit to the younger players but we started off brightly with Welbeck showing pace but downhill after that. You lose in a League Cup, fair enough. But to lose in that manner is woeful.

I really feel LVG should have played Rooney at least. He's the fricking captain and has hardly been playing outstandingly well or at least put some back up on the bench but MK Dons probably knew they were going to win as soon as seeing the line-up.

If LVG persists with this 3-5-2 formation and struggles continue, pressure will be on him to, using his favourite here, ADAPT to something more suited.

Liked the look of Pereira though in the second half, some nice crossfield balls. Hernandez was cack and Anderson showed why we'd be torturing the world of football by releasing him and letting him loose for a club to sign..
