He's been a top goalkeeper for years, but throughout this tournament has proven that he's easily the best there is right now. He reminds me a lot of a prime Peter Schmeichel / Oliver Kahn. You just don't fuck with him. He runs this shit.

Why did United sign De Gea and not Neuer? They were reportedly interested in him but opted for De Gea. Sure, Neuer's older, but is twice the keeper De Gea is.

In an ideal world, United would have gone for Neuer. He performed really well against United in the semis of the CL in 2011 but he wanted to go to Bayern. De Gea's best is still yet to come, lot of potential still yet to come through.

I'd say that makes his job as a goalkeeper difficult. That position is about concentration. Alot more difficult to be doing nothing until the 91st minute, then be called upon to make a tough save. More harder than making repetitive saves from an on-coming attack on your from your opponents.
