I felt the challenge on Robben in the first half should have been called a penalty, so to me the calls cancelled each other out. Didn't feel the 2nd one was much of a foul (Marquez put his foot out, and Robben expertly left his leg there then took the fall like a true diving champion), but thought the first was certainly a penalty so Mexico can't be that upset about it IMO. They were still up 1-0 for nearly all of the 2nd half but just fell back into defense and didn't do anything. Netherlands dominated the last 10 minutes and deserved the win, weak penalty or not I'd say.

Marquez caught Robben's toe and latter, as usual, did his theatrical dive to make sure he got it. Poor from Marquez for diving in tbh, should have stayed on his feet.

Robben went down like he'd been axed in the back. Shocking.

Neymar's out of the World Cup. Suffered a bad back injury. Referee pretty poor tonight as were Columbia, not helped by Fernandinho's one night only performance as Ron Chopper Harris on poor James Rodriguez.

Neymar's been decent but I don't think he's been as good what's been made out. Rodriguez has had a better WC than him.

That was probably the most boring game of the cup so far. For a team that has the best pkayerin the world, Argentina really havnt been all that impressive compared to some other teams. I dont see them getting in to the finals. Germany/Netherlands is my prediction for that.

Yeah, that game sucked. Belgium have been really dull this tournament, which is surprising as many predicted they'd be the 'dark horses' of the competition.

Germany vs Netherlands should be good. Two similar teams full of great players.

Belgium were poor. Hazard and De Bruyne (bet Chelsea are glad they got rid, was shit) and Mirallas should have tested their wingbacks with pace but just poor in general. No dominant team in this WC, just lots of goals, no defensive thought and teams getting over the line. I see a Germany-Argentina final as former seem to have a more stronger defence.

I'm not sure whether he's like that when he's faced penalties whilst playing for Newcastle but it did the trick tbf. Costa Rica's players were probably already nervous and maybe that's why LVG made the audacious decision to send him on, made of stronger stuff than Cillasena. Game was poor until 80th minute.

Going for a Germany vs. Holland final.

Nothing, he was just part of a bit of the ol' mind games from the Dutch coach who brought on a new GK at 119 minutes, psyching out the Costa Rican players for the upcoming penalties.
