Do we have a women's division on the way?

With Daz bringing in a new female character and people like Alexa Logan, Melissa Chambers and Gia already around (Onyx Jaden doesn't wrestle, IIRC), do you think there's a possibility that we're going to be seeing a women's division start up? Do you think we SHOULD have one?

I'll come right out and say it. We are VERY weary of a Women's division. In the past (WCSF) there have been many issues with it. If enough people were interested we will consider it but if we do we will proceed with caution.

I wouldn't try and force it, we did that in SOS to accommodate PPD and it was a fucking nightmare. We had maybe 4 writers, I ended up having to write for like 3 female characters just to carry the load and give some variety in the match types. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing the women we do have maybe getting physical in matches, maybe a mixed tag match and the like (On that note, I've always thought a mixed tag title would be an interesting concept for a sim fed). Zanetti's and Roxanne vs NRC and Melissa springs to mind. But a fully fledged division with a title isn't something I'd be in favour of right now. If we have a few more women pop up and the numbers are right to carry a division, why not?

I will say, this weariness about a women's division because of WCSF is a little bit silly. I think that had less to do with the gender of the characters and a lot more to do with the personalities writing for them.

Yeah, I don't understand either . It's totally understandable to say we don't have enough people to make it worthwhile, so we may as not make an effort to build the division. But I think @Sks's reaction is a bit harsh

I'm pretty sure he's exaggerating.

I can see people's hesitancy given the *ahem* reputation of the previous female divisions. Daz is right though, that was likely a special case that wouldn't happen again as most of the parties aren't involved anymore and those circumstances were unique.

I like Daz's mixed tag idea. Could be a way to gauge interest and see if a full fledged division might work.

Well, I guess it wouldn't be too bad, maybe if more women wrestlers sign up. Most of the women around on the roster seem to be better suited as managers right now, to be honest. Maybe in the future though, I wouldn't be that against it.

Yeah I know with me personally, it might be a bit much to take Alexa from being a manager to a full time wrestler considering I already have two full-time characters. Of course, I'm more than willing to have Alexa wrestle occasionally in mixed gender tag matches and what not, I think in the right situations that could add a lot to storylines.

To be fair it WOULD add variety, and it would give the female characters something to do. Right now they are just eye candy and there are a lot of them.

Instead of a division it seems like it wouldn't be a bad idea to just have the occasional women's match as a special attraction sort of deal. They don't necessarily have to have a title to step into the ring to settle a score or get a pay check from time to time.

Like this idea. Put a womens match on the next pre-show and see how it goes over. This along with some mixed-tag matches seem like a good way to use them.

Do we really need that bit of variety though? A cruiserweight division, a tag division, hardcore division, etc all bring something unique that you can't see on the rest of the card. There's nothing the women can do that you can't see with a regular men's roster. We might as well just have a British division where only British wrestlers can compete. It would be the same thing - nothing different except the people allowed to compete in it.

That's just my opinion though. The fact is, HardcoreLegend, Tim, saucernips, Daz, etc would all have to write for another character if we do the division. That adds more work for them and us the bookers, increases the chance of shows being late, all for little to no real payoff. And I disagree that right now the women are just eye candy:

I'm up for this. There just hasn't been an opportune time to have a woman wrestle in PCW so far, but in the future, who knows.

I agree with this. Occasional intergender or women's match if part of an ongoing feud between the male roster that has a manager would be fine. If Zanettis and NRC were feuding there might be a six person tag where Roxanne and Melissa would continue their little mini-feud.
