Who will win the Escalation match?

Postby prophet » Nov 25, '13, 1:45 pm

Mammoth match at the first PPV to crown PCW's first World Champion, who do we all think will win?

Logic would suggest that the favourites for this match would be Kaiser, Daz and Haynes but now we know Omega is back, Hess is on fire and Spencer Miller is capable of anything it would seem. I'm pretty certain the mods have a couple of tricks up their collective sleeves and so I'm going to come right out and say that I think we'll see somebody return and shock us all but I have no idea who it might be.

well, I have one idea of who it could be but I refuse to spill...

I think Kaiser wins it in a sketchy way. I dont think Haynes will win, but he'll have the strongest showing. Final 2 will be Kaiser and Daz.

That's too predictable for me and I think the mods probably think that as well. I think Kaiser will be in the final four but I think The Disciples of Hess will deal with the British Rose while Kaiser does his best to avoid his nemesis.

Well we already know Kaiser is entering first. It'd be a huge waste of his story if he were to go early, I think. If I were booking things, I'd have him make it to the very end (final 2 or 3) only to lose. But in terms of who will actually win, I really don't know. I guess it wouldn't shock me if it were Kaiser, but I think at this very moment it makes for a better story to have the guy who came to PCW as the "defending champion" (even though he wasn't, really) to not win it right away. Looking at the rest of the roster... Hess seems like the next biggest contender, but I don't think the story he's in necessarily lends itself to holding the title. Omega isn't even a true active wrestler at this point yet, and his motivations probably lie elsewhere than championship gold. Miller's been given an interesting story to start things off, but if he really is working for someone else it'd be weird to have him be the one to win the title.

That leaves Daz and Foster, in my mind, as being the biggest contenders left. Daz is the safe choice because we know he'll take the belt and run with it, but I think Foster might be the better option given the upward trajectory he was on in WCSF and the fact that PCW is sort of ushering a new era, and what better way to do that than with a first-time champ who we already know is great?

So after all that rambling, I'm going to go with Nick Foster winning the title in the Escalation match, entering into an immediate feud with Kaiser Cavanah for the belt afterwards.

I'd probably put my money on a shock Hess win. He was on fire towards the end of the WCSF and has kept that momentum going into the PCW where he's pretty much been the star of the show every week. I know he's busy with Barry against Omega and Gryphon but look how he steam-rolled the entire roster on the last Onslaught show. He's a future world champion no doubt about it.

I think it's going to be Kaiser winning through some sort of shenanigans. Kaiser shouldn't be chasing the title, he should be the champion. Mainly because it will lead to a lot of heat between Kaiser and Burke. Burke doesn't like Kaiser so he can send challenger after challenger against Kaiser trying to take the title off the one man he doesn't want to hold it. If Kaiser doesn't win then there's no reason why he should be in the title picture from Burkes standpoint and besides Hess, Kaiser is the top heel. Hess is busy with Omega and Gryphon so he can't really be chasing titles. And if he did win the title then it would just clutter whatever is going on between The Disciples and Vimy Ridge. Hess can't have two feuds at the same time.

I'm still going with Daz and Foster being the two most likely, with Kaiser right behind them. But after this week's show, I'm definitely leaning more toward Daz.

I'm telling you, Kaiser is going to win through some type of awesome shenanigans. I have no idea how he'll pull off the win but he's the perfect champ for PCW.
