Worst WWE Wrestler Name Ever

WWE has come up with some pretty terrible names for their performers over the years. But I want to know what you guys think is their worst. I'm expecting to hear some guys that I'm not remembering right now.

I was having this argument with Kirbi last night - she still thinks Dolph Ziggler is the worst ever. And I'm sure that'll be a popular choice. But I don't think he has anything on NXT and Cruiserweight Classic performer Rich Swann.

Rich Swann. Whenever I hear his name, I think of this:

Having an actual word as a first name is fine. Having an actual word as a surname is fine. Both together is just silly. Rich Logan or David Swann would have been serviceable names. But I'm never going to take the swan in the monocle seriously as a wrestler.

Dolph Ziggler is a strong contender. I can't believe we've gotten used to saying it without laughing.

Weirdly I can't really think of any even though I'm sure there are tons. Maybe like the Braden Walker's of the world from the lost time in the 2000's.

Eventually I got used to thinking of Ziggler as a person, while I think Rich Swann will always be a bird with a top hat. His name is just silly in a very particular way that I find it difficult to ignore.

Seriously. For a guy who's entire thing is that he is a third generation wrestler, the son of "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig, grandson of Larry "The Axe" Hennig, from where in the wild blue F*CK do you pull out "McGillicutty" as a last name?! Why not his real name, Joe Hennig? Or for copyright reasons, Michael Hennig? Or f*cking Billy Bob Hennig for all I care! Why McGillicutty?! I will never understand that.

At least Curtis Axel has some roundabout connection to his family.

I've heard that McGillicutty was his mother's maiden name and that he was paying tribute to her.

Which is nice and all, but given being a third generation wrestler was part of his character, letting him keep the Hennig name would have made a lot more sense and would have been a lot more meaningful to wrestling fans.

And perhaps more importantly, McGillicutty just sounds lame and not tough at all.

When I saw the title of the thread, Ziggler was the first who came to mind for me. Easily the worst WWE name of all time as far as I'm concerned. Others that I think are awful....

Well, technically his name is Richard Swann, which doesn't sound as bad. Are they actually gonna let him keep his real name them once he debuts on Raw? Because they usually come up with their own names.

Kerwin White is by far and away the winner of this contest.

As for Ziggler, I don't mind it that much, especially when they just use his last name which is most of the time. Dolph is awful, but Ziggler isn't bad.

Names currently on the roster I hate more than Dolph Ziggler include: Apollo Crews, Big E, Curtis Axel, Enzo Amore, Fandango, Sami Zayn, Asuka, Oney Lorcan, Wesley Blake (it should be Blake Wesley).

Actually, for practical reasons it's become pretty clear that Apollo Crews is a terrible name. We've had people calling him Apollo Creed by accident, and he's now at the point where he's spelling his own name on television to try and make sure that people have got the message.

WWE's recent habit of not giving wrestlers first names and surnames is annoying to me. I much prefer Antonio Cesaro and Alexander Rusev to just Cesaro and Rusev. But this is one case where I think they should actually consider it. Apollo on its own wouldn't be that bad a name.

I wish they let Apollo Crews keep his old indie name, which was Uhaa Nation. I saw a show with him last year and people would used his name to sing along to loads of songs. For example, "U, haa, just a little bit. U, haa, a little more more." And also, "heeeeeeeeey, hey baby, U-haa. I wanna knoooooww, if you'll be my girl. Among others I can't remember. And he would constantly stop the ring announcer from doing his announcing so the crowd could continue singing. It was awesome.
