Reigns defeats Sheamus in the Raw Main event for the title after Vince McMahon himself made the match earlier and then tried to help Sheamus win and got superman punched for his troubles.

Even more shockingly, the same building in Philly where Reigns was booed out of the building and had death wishes upon him in January, cheered their asses off and were on their feet applauding his title win in December

I have a funny feeling this title Reign will be sort lived. I have a gut feeling that the Authority will strip Roman of the gold next Monday on RAW for what he did to Vince for getting involved in his match. It so predictable since we seen it with Bryan when he won his title a while back

When I woke up this morning and read about it, my first reaction was apathy. I respect the hard work that these guys put into their craft so getting rewarded for that is always nice. So I am happy that Roman got a positive reaction. With that being said, I just can't bring myself to care. When most wrestlers win the big one they have to go on a journey to rise up the ranks and it leads to the ultimate prize. This is how guys get over organically. As fans we can attach ourselves to being there when these guys are edging closer to their ultimate goal. With Reigns I just never got that. He has been a part of the main event in various forms from the time he debuted in the Shield. Him winning the belt always felt like it was inevitable. I also don't want to rain on the parade, but beating up HHH, Vince, and the League of Nations is the same type of Cena booking that has happened in the past. I really hope that this isn't the route they are going to go with him. I will admit that there will always be a part of me that just doesn't want Vince to win. He runs his company in such an ass backwards manner, that I can't help but wish for him to realize that he is wrong. The biggest problem with Vince is he tends to sacrifice the rest of his roster so he can push his guy. I am hopeful now that Reigns has the title, they will back off on holding the rest of the roster hostage.

This is so weird.

Roman Reigns deserves it in a sense. I've said it all year. His problems aren't because of his ring work. He's limited but he does a good job. He's consistently put on one of, if not the, best match on every PPV all year long. Yes he's had a hand with some very generous booking and good opponents. Especially Daniel Bryan and Brock Lesnar but it takes two to tango in the ring. The match at TLC was odd because looking at the match itself, it was mental. It was a pretty good match. It's just no one really cared until after the match.

It's weird because while I think the anti establishment ass kicker will work for him, we've not seen it much. We saw it briefly on TLC and then on Raw and with his previous work in the Shield. He's spent more time being the weird underdog. Was it too soon? Maybe but it's hard to say that when the same arena who was booing him relentlessly in January is now chanting "you deserve it". Maybe the sympathy booking worked.

It's all very weird.
