WWE announces the laziest Survivor Series elimination match ever

Postby Messiah » Nov 17, '15, 6:31 pm

http://www.cagesideseats.com/wwe/2015/1 ... tion-match

With the semifinals of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament now set, the WWE Universe is left to wonder which 10 Superstars will forge alliances and enter Atlanta's Philips Arena to compete in Survivor Series' namesake match this Sunday.

Sigh. Do they even try?

This baffles me, because now they're just throwing a Survivor Series Elimination Match in just to have one. If I were them, I would've just made the entire TOURNAMENT the PPV, like in 1998. That didn't have a "traditional" match, and it was just fine. But this is just doing one because they feel like they have to do one. It's the epitome of how lazy the booking is.

I think they could of done a better job. They could of easily added members with Taker and Kane vs The Wyatt match and call it there since they had a feud started already. They could of added others that feuded with the Wyatt to team Taker and add say two others that feuded with Takers team to the Wyatts. That would be more logical thing to do and would have a back story with it then just making random teams

In their defense, they're probably going to be using guys who were in the tournament and they couldn't exactly announce them before we knew the semifinals.

That is a good reason since it would not give away who is in the finals however i think it might be Ambrose and Reigns in the finals but I could be wrong

They didn't have to use guys in the elimination match, or at least people lost in the first round so there could be a week of build up at least.

But then who would you have in the thing? Neville/Kalisto/Cesaro/Ziggler would all be off the card then.

I'd like to see a well built elimination match too, in fact I thought we were getting that with the Wyatts/Taker match. But this match is just card filler, it really doesn't matter who they announce ahead of time. It's just there to fill time between the tournament and the Taker match.

Maybe that's the bigger problem for me. The traditional Survivor Series match should be a main attraction, not just a card filler. I'd almost prefer they didn't do a match at all compared to this. But my biggest prefference would have been to have the whole tournament on Survivor Series, have a Wyatt/BOD/two other people Survivor Series tag match and the divas match make up the Survivor Series card. That would have been 9 matches, you could have done some creative booking in the tournament to save some time early on and had a much more compelling PPV overall.

I would have done the whole tournament on SS itself too, it makes the whole PPV matter then. But they have 3 Hours to kill every Monday night and clearly they struggle to find stuff to fill that time. Thus, we get a bunch of matches on Raw for two weeks.

I'd have rather they done the entire tournament at the PPV with the Taker/Wyatt thing thrown in for good measure. This is awful.

Speaking of this, @Prophet How exactly will we do that match for the roundtable? :P On a more serious note, when will the roundtable go up? Thanks.

I think they should do a lottery draw to decide who gets in the teams. Make it more ludicrous than it already is.

Can't believe they actually allow this to happen, not like they don't know the PPV is coming up. They should have been planning for the SS match even before what happened to Seth. It's a shame as I found last years main event SS match to be pretty great.

I'll likely get it up tomorrow. Just trying to wait and see whether they announce anything more concrete because this could be a real clusterfuck if not :lol

Just have people get 1 point for every participant in the match they get correct.
