James Storm at NXT:Takeover?

So apparently, James Storm was spotted walking with Billy Gunn into Full Sail for tonight's NXT: Takeover Respect event.

Interesting stuff. He was also spotted at an NXT live event in Nashville last week. There some conflicting reports on that though.

Ooh, I really hope he signs. I like Storm a lot. And NXT (and WWE in general) could really do with some new talent that can actually cut a promo right about now.

I watched TNA for a couple of weeks, where he had some like hangman gimmick and he came to the ring with a rope around his neck. I thought he looked incredible, and really liked what he was doing. I don't know his career too well, but the brief glimpse I saw told me he was great. Can't wait to see what he does.

I doubt this happens, but what if Storm is being brought it to be part of a stable? I keep going back to the fact WWE has been promoting Finn with the Balor Club merch. It could be argued that the shirts are referring to his fan base, but with his recent change in look and entrance I wonder if it for a gimmick adjustment. It might be WWE's way of adding guys who can cut promos (Joe and Storm) to make up for Balor's lack of mic skills. They also have that outside WWE history to work with. Granted a lot of WWE seems to have that history now. WWE could really use a face stable right now, especially considering how many heel stables there are (New Day, Authority, Wyatts).

James Storm was my favorite wrestler at one point. He killed it as both a face and a heel. I doubt we'll see him in WWE/NXT but it would be great.

It's too bad he won't be using this theme though.

Yeah I'd be down with him for a run in NXT ala Samoa Joe. I'm not sure how interested they'd be in him for the main roster though. He has to be in his late 30's now.

Storm has had a few awesome themes actually.

And it's such a small detail, but his catchphrase was fucking boss. "Sorry about your damn luck!"

He's still in TNA.

I still don't understand why WWE weren't interested in him the last time his contract with TNA expired. Dude seems like exactly the kind of wrestler they should want.
