Vince may be considering a triple threat for the Mania main event

We noted two weeks ago that WWE pontifical would not be putting Daniel Bryan into the WWE World Heavyweight Title Match at WrestleMania 31 with Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar because Vince McMahon didn't want to go that route again after doing the same thing last year. Vince reportedly held a meeting this past week and changed his mind.

According to The Wrestling Observer, the new idea for the WrestleMania 31 main event is Bryan vs. Reigns vs. Lesnar for the title.

Plans could always change between now and the Fastlane pay-per-view on February 22nd but the current idea is to do a Triple Threat at WrestleMania 31 after Vince made the decision, apparently due to the crowd reactions.

We'll see what happens. I'd rather not see another triple threat... but this would at least be a better match than just Reigns vs. Lesnar.

I'm sure Vince was told that Lesnar vs Reigns would be a terrible match and would probably be on the standards of Goldberg vs. Lesnar from WM XX.

I guess they'll throw Bryan in there to make the match bearable and presumably have Reigns "knocked out" outside of the ring until the last 5-10 minutes of the match where Roman will probably spear Daniel Bryan for the win.

If anything good comes from this story other than the match itself. It's that Vince apparently can listen to the fans from time to time and hear what they say.

Yeah the triple threat match be better since Rollins and Cena carried the last triple threat match with Lesner at the Rumble.

However I can see how the make it happen, the have Reigns and Bryan both have a double count out of both knocked out cold in the ring so they counted both of them out which then Triple H on RAW the next time makes it a Triple Threat for Mania.

People are just throwing this comment around lately, as if Lesnar vs Reigns would definitely have a terrible match. I don't think there's any real reason to worry about that.

Reigns is decent in the ring. Serviceable anyway. He's got a pretty cool moveset and can do the basics well. He's not great at selling, but make this match a massive brawl and he won't need to do as much traditional selling. Add a gimmick to give the guys a crutch - they can use more props then, and more interference. When Reigns is on offense, Lesnar will make him look amazing. He's maybe the best seller in the WWE at the moment.

And with these two guys the match will be heavily booked to make sure nothing goes wrong.

There's nothing stopping these two from having a great match. If they crowd turn on them, it'll create a weird atmosphere, but that doesn't mean they won't acquit themselves well in the ring. Lesnar seems more professional now, so I doubt he'd recreate the mess he made with Goldberg and Reigns actually is very invested in the outcome of the match so he'll be trying his best.

Would it be as good as Bryan/Lesnar? No. But I'd be massively surprised if it was one of the worst Wrestlemania main events in terms of in ring performance.

I'm not really in favour of the Triple Threat. They went through that phase for a while of always running a Triple Threat for the title at Mania. I don't need to see that come back. I'd prefer they just replace Reigns with Bryan and figure out a way to use that to turn Reigns into a compelling character.

Please no. At this point I want the Reigns vs Lesnar crapfest. I want WWE to either regret every decision they have made or convince me Reigns is ready. Storyline wise it just doesn't make any sense for Bryan to be in that match either. Put Bryan in a match that can steal the show, not be the fall guy in the Main Event.

I really don't have a lot of faith in Reigns vs Lesnar to be a good match, so I'd be in favour of this. They could work it so we see pathces of Bryan and Lesnar one on one, so they could fans happy that way.

Eh, Reigns being there still kinda soils it. I guess it's better than what we would have gotten but I gather this is just a way to shut Bryan fans up until Mania is over.

At this point, it's pretty obvious that what we're getting at Wrestlemania is going to be underwhelming. They can't contrive their way around it like they did last year. Some people are going to end up disappointed no matter what.

But if we're looking for the best case scenario from where we are now (which we obviously won't get), I still think it's Reigns getting over properly as face before Wrestlemania and then winning the title from Lesnar. That would be a better finish to this story than Bryan vs Lesnar or a triple threat.

It's not going to happen though. They're in damage control now and they're too busy fucking around with their plans to actually focus on what's important. And what's important right now is that their next top face isn't over as a face. They should be trying to fix that problem. No amount of changing around schedules and matches will make fans cheer Reigns, that's a problem that has to be tackled head on.
