This Week on Raw ...

Postby Hanley! » Aug 19, '14, 2:40 pm

There were several wrestlers who failed to appear on the show this week: Adam Rose, Damien Sandow, Fandango, Layla, Summer Rae, El Torito, The Great Khali & John Cena to name a few.

If only every week was like this.

Next week, get rid of the Bellas and Rob Van Douche too and we may have the perfect show.

It's not a joke, it's just how I feel.

Also, yes. Yes he did.

To Steve's actual point, this is one of the main problems of the three hour Raws. They really don't know what to do with all the extra time and thus you get a bunch of filler in the form of the bad comedy segments with some of the names @Hanley! mentioned, and a bunch of recap segments (I'm pretty sure they recapped the Brie/Nikki thing 4 times throughout the show).

Ideally if the show was 2 hours they could scrap all that stuff, streamline it and focus on the big stuff and leave the lower card filler guys to Main Event, Superstars, and maybe a bit on Smackdown.

They won't scrap the recaps though. All of those recaps are sponsored by different advertisers, advertisers are how WWE makes money, business is all about making money.

Surely they could have the advertisers sponsor something else?

Or just occasionally have the commentators say "Monday Night Raw is sponsored by ..." between the matches. That used to be their way of doing things and it worked pretty well. You noticed the products a lot more, and it took up less time.

The replays are irritating. Tonight we spent much of the show replaying the worst segment of the night over and over again. There's no reason for it. The show isn't so long that we can't remember what happened 30 minutes after it took place.

Not all of them, they do the "insert brand here" Slam of the Week or whatever. But later in the show they'll come back from break and the announcers will throw to "here's what happened earlier in the night with the Bellas". It's unnecessary. If they didn't show so many recaps then maybe it would drive traffic to their website from people looking for the stuff they missed.

Also, adding all the recaps only encourages people to skip portions of the show because anything major that happens they're bound to see at some point. They should try and get people to actually watch the whole show.
