I'm lost for words, that record stood for so long, and there have been so many top Stars hold the World Title/s, and yet NONE of them even came that close.

Is John Cena really the NEXT Ric Flair????????

Is he really WORTHY of that honor......or was Ric Flair also overrated?

No one should EVER pass Ric Flair's record. Although I do fear that WWE want Cena to be the one to break it.

To me I've never really cared about Flair's record, mostly because I never cared for Flair as a wrestler. Hell of a mouth piece, but I always hated his over acting schtick.

Flair WAS overrated, but that's a whole different issue.

The truth is that while this is undeserved, it was only a matter of time before someone overtook Ric Flair. Title changes are just becoming far more common and far more meaningless in the current era. Title changes were more of an achievement back in the 80s, when Flair was in his prime.

Cena won't be the only one to beat Flair's record. Orton probably will also. And over time, many others will too.

When Triple H had won his 13th title, everyone flipped their shit because he was only three away and everyone for sure thought he was going to break the record. Triple hadn't shown signs of slowing down in the ring so no one really knew when he was going to start working backstage more at the time.

The difference is the family connection with HHH, you always knew he probably would start working backstage at some point. You look at Cena and with only two to tie the record, you know he's going to be WWE champion one more time in the future at least. Plus, Cena is still four years away from the age HHH was at when he stopped winning titles, and even then HHH stopped winning titles to do one final run with DX. Cena doesn't have a run like that in him.

Next year, at this time, I see him having won at least one more World Title, and showing no sign of slowing down. Unfortunately, it's only a matter of time before he passes Flair's record. Every time he gets injured it's just another big comeback in the works.

I was thinking the same thing. Baring some massive medical reason (see Edge) I think Cena has to many years ahead of him yet for it to make sense for him to NOT hold the title twice more. The only way they could get away with it is on a technicality since they could make an Undisputed title again
