I get that he's not in TNA anymore, which I'm sure makes him a more attractive prospect for the Hall of Fame than he's ever been before. But he's also had some personal problems over the last year which you would have thought would disqualify him for another year or two at least. Plus ... he's Jeff Jarrett. He's been on bad terms with WWE forever. He's bashed them in public, he held them up for money, and he started a competing promotion that constantly took shots at them.

He's a really bad choice for the Hall of Fame in some ways, but he should be a very entertaining one for most of the same reasons. I'd say depending on how safe he plays things with his speech it could be a very dull affair, or it could be one of the better speeches in a long time.

If they're basing this on his tenure in WWE there's no way he's even close to deserving, right? Just a really odd choice.

As a performer, he doesn't deserve to go in, but that has never really been WWE's requirements. They just put in whoever they want. I truly believe that Vince respects people with great drive and passion. Jarrett tried to challenge WWE, even when everyone knew it was impossible. He tried to be WCW and barely became ROH. It is why Vince had no issue bringing Bischoff back, as he respects the men who push him. Jarrett does have 9 championship reigns in WWE, so that helps as well. 6 of them are with the IC title.

The good news here is that this guarantees that mid-carders have a good shot to make the hall of fame. This can be good news for guys like The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Goldust, etc.

If Koko B Ware can get in, Double J can certainly get in. I do find it interesting that in a time they continue to push the women's revolution so hard that one of the most chauvinistic characters from the Attitude Era will get in the Hall.

Jerry Lawler was already in the Hall. The bar is pretty low for chauvinistic characters. It is actually kind of funny how much they are trying to distance themselves from some people. Yet, they let Warrior (a known Homophobe) in the hall and honor him with an award every year.

Jeff Jarret has had a bigger impact on the wrestling industry than probably any other midcarer currently in the Hall of Fame. I wonder if this is Triple H's doing and they have some plan to work with Jarret in a creative/talent development role. Jarret has a lot of experience with that and Triple H has a reputation for bringing people into WWE.

Then you have a rapist (Mike Tyson) and a killer (Jimmy Snuka). The Hall of Fame is far from squeaky clean.

Yeah, but all three of those happened long before the WWE started pretending to think that women were equal to men.

What's he done?

I guess its closest thing we'll come to seeing Triple H v Triple J

As said before, the bar doesn't seem to be high on the morality scale so anyone with a checkered history can make it in but Jarrett, at a point in time (maybe 2005/06 when he brought Christian, Angle to TNA) was openly belligerent in trying - but failing ultimately - in challenging the WWE so that considered with his previous stint in the company and he's not a rival as much anymore, Vince was happy to to include him.

He was fired from Impact due to alcohol problems. Possibly drugs too, I can't remember. But definitely alcohol. He was in rough shape at Triplemania (might have been a different AAA show). Impact released him soon after, and he checked into WWE-sponsored rehab.
