Cody Rhodes - Stardust

Was it ever explained why Cody Rhodes went mad and turned into this crazy character Stardust talking about Cosmic Keys and leaping around like a leprechaun with gold paint & gold suit.................or were we supposed to ACCEPT that it isn't Cody and it's a brand new character.

I mean I'll be honest I don't know the history of Goldust, whether he started the same, but for years Cody was Cody, he even criticized the WWE for painting Dustin Rhodes in Gold Paint, now he's doing the same................but has there been an explanation for the change in character?

Here's how it went down:

They were in a tag team together and doing pretty well. Then they went on a losing streak, where Cody was responsible for most of their losses. He finally decided that Goldust deserved a better tag partner than him, and for a few weeks he was rounding up other wrestlers to team with Goldust in his place. None of those teams were working though - Goldust kept losing.

Eventually Cody reinvented himself and he became Goldust's "new" partner. With this new attitude, he wasn't losing all the time. That was the reason.

I feel bad for Cody. They keep changing his gimmick. He always gives it his all, but he's never going to reach the top when they won't give him a good gimmick and won't let him settle into a steady role.
