Halo 2 wa my favorite. So many hours spent on my cousins xbox playing 4 player split-screen. So much fun. I played Halo 3 too but not that much. I started playing it more last month when it was free to download on Xbox. Reach was why i played the most on Xbox 360. The online was alright but most of the time i just screwed around in forge with my friends. I never got into Halo 4 that much. I thought it looked cool and all and felt good to play, it just didnt have the same Halo feel to me. Still a fun game though.

I cannot stand Halo. That series is a joke, same with Gears of war.

Not a Halo guy myself but care to elaborate on why you don't like Gears?

The controls are terrible. If they had a different control system I might enjoy the game.

Re: Who plays Halo?

You really thought that would keep me out of here, Tim? :P At least I wasn't the first person to say it sucks.

I probably threw around comments about it being the "WORST GAME EVAR" in the past, which probably isn't fair. I just have a lot of hatred for it because it's the worst game I've been forced to play a lot of ... because when the only options are playing Halo or watching other people play Halo, playing it is probably slightly less boring. In reality it's just "DULL GAME EVAR". I found it really bland and quite generic.

The thing that bugged me about it was the silly amount of hype there was around it. But that seems to have died down in recent years thankfully, so my hatred for the series is waning. Now it's just another one of those games that I'm not bothered with and I can leave it at that.

Halo really hasn't changed at all since it first came out. I really hate game series that don't evolve. I dislike COD for the same reason.

Now that's simply not true at all. For the COD franchise it's a legitimate complaint, but Halo has evolved significantly over the course of the last ten years, ESPECIALLY with Halo 4 - the structure of the campaign and how in-depth it goes is completely different than previous games, and the options you have available to you in multiplayer have grown exponentially. Then you add in the additions over the years of the forge, the theater, the Halo file share, Halo Waypoint, etc. and it's pretty ridiculous to say that the franchise hasn't evolved.

I'm not talking about the other modes, but when it comes to gameplay it still seems the exact same as it first did. Don't get me wrong though, I do like to screw around on forge with my buddies but other than that the gameplay still feels the same.

Why does the gameplay need any big change though? If it aint broke dont fix it.

Actually a lot of fans have complained that Halo 4 was too big of a departure gameplay-wise and that it was becoming too much like Call of Duty.

Which is also silly. I think the only new feature added that really was reminiscent of Call of Duty was the ability to sprint which, let's face it, that was long overdue :lol

I recently played the HD remake of the original and Halo 3 with a friend. Just blasted through the campaign. There is no way I could play it by myself, it's crazy monotonous.

Dying more quickly and killstreak-type things replacing weapon drops on the map were also complaints I've heard. The thinking behind the latter being that it's harder to control the maps that way.
