Favorite Pokemon?

Postby ShaneOfan » Oct 08, '13, 12:57 pm

With the new Pokemon games coming out soon, I figured I'd ask who your favorite Pokemon are? If you had to make a team of 6 to take you through the whole game series start to finish who would you use?

Golduck-Psychic and water abilities plus can learn surf
Blissey-She is a rock and can learn to heal your other Pokemon
Pidgeot-Great flyer
Machamp-Learns great ground and fighting moves.
KrIcketune-Learns sing can be used for cut, good bug moves
Charizard-because Charizard

I like to choose pokemon I like that can balance each other and take on almost any team.

Venusaur: Bulbasaur is my favorite pokemon ever so he's automatically on board.
Houndoom: He's a dark and fire type devil dog with an amazing look. He's effective against bugs, grass, psychic and ice. How could you not want him on your team.
Braviary: Pidgeotto is my favorite pokemon and I love Pidgeot as a result but Braviary takes it for me. He's tough and fast and America pours from his being. It's either him or Staraptor.
Rhydon: He's a rock/ground type that can learn surf and Thunder. How could you not want him.
Swampert: He's a strong water type and is strong against some popular types like ground and fire. He's also half ground so he can't be harmed by the ever popular Electric type which would normally be devastating.
Electivire: He's a faster and stronger Electabuzz. And with how common water and flying types are you're damn near required to have an electric type on hand.

I'd sub in Alakazam, Steelix, and Articuno if needed. Entei gets honorable mention.

I only know the Pokemon in Red and Blue. From those, my favorites were probably:

Scyther (dude looked so sweet)
Snorlax (he's hilarious!)
Squirtle/Blastoise (turtles with water guns? I'm in)
Gyarados (duh)
Jigglypuff (it's so cute!)

Squirtle has always been my favourite. But I must admit to not being remotely familiar with any outside of the original 150 odd.

I don't know any outside of the first 251.

Pokemon has become like the Die Hard films. It was fucking awesome, so the makers kept creating more and more. Though in hindsight, they should have stopped a long time ago.

What they need to do is come up with some new storylines for the games. And I don't necessarily mean the choose starter> beat 8 gyms> Pokemon League formula. I mean something better than a generic evil team being a minor nuisance here and there. I've really been enjoying Pokemon Y, I'm about half-way through it; but the one problem I have with the game so far is that the storyline is boring. It hasn't been anything we haven't seen before a dozen times. Team Flair just seem like a poor man's Team Magma.
