^ Same basically, played the tutorial so far, it seemed quite simple from what I played but I'm fearful of venturing into any competitive setting, not sure how forgiving the community is towards scubs like m'self.

^community isn't so bad if you let people know you are knew and ask for help early on each game. At least that's my experience with the Aussie servers.
I didn't realise, but dota has nearly more players at anyone time than the next 99 top games on steam. Pretty epic stat I think!
