Re: Daniel Bryan to retire

I still find this to be the best tribute to date primarily because it shows what Bryan went through for years and years before making it big in the WWE:

Re: The Hateful Eight

But if it does help, I actually think that's probably a better reason to use 70mm than scenery porn (not that I necessarily have anything against that either). I think all the great filmmakers understand this, and I agree. Even though 65mm photochemical film spawns a high resolution image, that is ...

Re: Adam Sandler

Even though it's a mediocre film, Sandler was quite good in The Cobbler (2014). The film is uneven, pandered with an implausible script and surprisingly ill-guided direction, but it still managed to just work, thanks in large part to Sandler's performance.

RIP David Bowie

David Bowie has passed away from a long battle with cancer at the age of 69. He was a prodigiously talented individual, and had unparalleled charisma. He was one of the leading symbols for the dissension and rebellion of the mid-to-late 60s and constantly surprised audiences with his unique appearen...

Re: HAPPY HALLOWEEEEEEEN

All I wanted to do is watch a horror film with my girlfriend, and even that was too much of an ask. She doesn't like horror. Way too susceptible to its content.

Oh, well, at least we had plenty of sex.

Re: I'm going to see 2001: A Space Odyssey tonight on the big screen

Enjoy it, sir. I had the pleasure of watching a pristine 70mm print late last year, and it was inarguably the most evocative, visceral, redolent theatrical experience of my moviegoing life. The last thirty minutes, in particular, were just indescribable in terms of what feelings it engendered. I sti...

Re: Post your hairline

I was not in a good mood here, but it's the first photo that popped up.

I have no idea how my hairline looks. I have never given it much thought at all until now. This is really going to aid my insecurities, thank you.

Re: "US President should not be a Muslim"

Seems like Europeans assume FOX News is the only network. The only one who was constantly bashing Islamophobia into Americans heads were FOX. Every other fucking day from 2004 onwards they'd have some guy on discussing about how terrible the war is on every station but FOX. Hell, that shift is one ...

Re: "US President should not be a Muslim"

It's as if some people think 9/11 lasted forever. That whole Muslims are easy to bash shit died two years after 9/11 and ever since you can't say anything at all about Muslims. You can attack Christianity, you can call them homophobes or bigots, but if you say the same about Islam, you're fucked. S...

My top 5 music albums of all time

Okay, I'll be the first to admit that I do not know much about music. My interests are quite limited, and my taste is rather conventional, depending on what perspective you discern it from. Nevertheless, I thought I would share my top five music albums of all time, if only to engender some disc...

Re: The truth about the Syrian refugee crisis

The current Syria crisis has some remarkably eerie Cold War tendencies. It is a proxy conflict, fought primarily between the United States and Russia. Assad is a despot, a tyrant, and a ruthless autocrat, but this is obviously not the reason as to why Washington want to overthrow him. In fact, chanc...

Re: Kanye West announces plan to run for president in 2020

How is he going to run a country, he has to know about foreign policies, he has to be able to sit down around a table with other World leaders who will look to him to have answers about some of the biggest issues on Earth, like wars where people family members can go off and never come home again. ...

Re: Wes Craven died today

I briefly know of someone who has acquainted with him on a few occasions before, and apparently, he was one of the sweetest, most honest and humble figures working in the industry. A sad loss, indeed, and an extremely talented filmmaker, even if some of his work is mediocre.

Re: Why is Donald Trump so popular?

I actually think it's somewhat indicative of the underlying sense of cynicism plaguing American politics. It plays at a very inconspicuous level, but his popularity denotes something to do with the 'discourse' of politicians and all the negative connotations they carry. It's very interesting.

Re: Sharknado 3: Oh Helllllll No

They're actually mindlessly entertaining films, and much more self-aware than what some give them credit for. The intent behind the financing of such works are also quite astute.
